AJClementeFan69 477
Anyone else think this is almost certainly a Crane piece? If you listen to this montage, the horns in the headline bed portion sound almost identical to "7 News" -- not to mention that WFLD dropped this for Crane's NMSA-dubbed "WSVN 1998" in 1996 (perhaps KTTV 1995 would be a more accurate name). Info Junkie 1286
Are you sure WFLD even used this? Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/16798-wfldktnv-theme-chris-crane/#findComment-217497 Share on other sites
Georgie56 3305
That is definitely Chris Crane. 1 hour ago, Info Junkie said: Are you sure WFLD even used this? They never used that particular cut KTNV used. The headline beds sound almost exactly the same. Samantha 2895
The "WSVN 1998" definitely was written for KTTV; that's how it's categorized in ASCAP ("KTTV TV News Music Package") and some of the alternate titles suggest WTTG used it in some capacity. (There are other WSVN entries, of course.) However, a separate entry exists for "WFLD News Theme". That's probably this. The instrumentation is super-Crane, now that I think about it. (For instance, when the KTVI "2 NewsTeam" open first surfaced, I immediately knew it was the mythical Crane pack just from hearing it.)
