AaronQ 282 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 (edited) Add WJHG and KCRG to the list Edited June 20, 2020 by AaronQ
News Fan 14 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 (edited) I wonder why the new website doesn’t list the on-air talent? I’ve been noticing it on all the stations that have switched. Edited June 20, 2020 by BobW

GoldenShine9 1514 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Some more just got it: WDBJ, WRDW/WAGT and WSAZ. Mostly Gray legacy stations so far (KYOU is the only ex-Raycom station to have changed).
GoldenShine9 1514 Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 (edited) New additions: KMVT, WHSV and WTVY. Also added: KWQC, WBAY, WDTV, WEAU, WMTV and WTAP. Edited June 24, 2020 by GoldenShine9
GoldenShine9 1514 Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 (edited) Over the last few days, Gray has changed some more sites: KOLN/KGIN, KNEP, KNOP, KSNB, WIBW, WIFR and WSAW. The legacy Gray stations are rapidly being changed. Next would be the ex-Raycom stations most likely. Edited June 29, 2020 by GoldenShine9
Morphtato 43 Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Looks like WLNM-LD in Lansing is now in Gray's hands, with it now being used to retransmit WILX's main signal along with its subchannels. TCT programming has been added to a new subchannel on 10.7/27.7. https://www.wilx.com/content/misc/Heres-how-to-rescan-your-television-571506471.html

Gives people another way to get WILX on their antenna
CircleSeven 1960 Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 They switched to Aerial. Graphics are a status quo. 2

GoldenShine9 1514 Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 As far as the site changes go, they have since done it to KFYR and its satellites, KVLY, KWCH, WILX, WJRT and WOWT.
GoldenShine9 1514 Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 (edited) https://www.kgns.tv/2020/07/07/kgns-news-reports-8-cases-of-covid-19/ KGNS (Laredo, TX) has 8 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within its staff. For a fairly small station, that's enormous. Are they going to be able to even keep doing newscasts? The closest sister station to them is KWTX in Waco. Edited July 8, 2020 by GoldenShine9
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 There's one thing missing on the new Gray websites... News Team Bios.

I noticed that too...something that they need to fix. Most of the Gray legacy stations are now updated, the exceptions being KKCO, KTUU, KTVF, WABI, WAGM, WCAX and WTVG.
CircleSeven 1960 Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 New M&A from Gray. And we're going back to Hawaii. Gray is acquiring the Telemundo affiliate KSIX-TV from Mauna Kea Broadcasting for $1M. We all know what Gray has in the Islands. Honolulu's KGMB (CBS) & KHNL (NBC). And KHNL satellite's KFVE (formerly KHBC) Hilo and KOGG in Wailuku. KSIX's signal primarily serves the western sections of the Big Island. Gray is saying the station's signal doesn't overlap with their Honolulu station or KFVE, which that serves the eastern part of the big island. Here's the contours of both KFVE & KSIX signals in the Big Island.

GoldenShine9 1514 Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 The last of the Gray legacy stations have had their sites updated. The only ex-Raycom station to have an updated site so far is KYOU.

KYOU was an exception since it used revrocket as its web host, same host still being used by KNIN Fox 9. It seems that KYOU, which was produced out of WXIX in Cincy under Raycom had its newscasts (or at least weather segments) moved to new sister station KCRG 9 in Cedar Rapids, IA, which makes sense since they are much closer to each other. I think KYOU swapped to the new Arc look at the same time as KCRG 9 did since they had their operations moved to Iowa from Ohio.

What I forgot to mention is the Telemundo affliation agreement is included in this transaction. From this RBR article about the sale: Quote A Gray Television representative tells RBR+TVBR that KFVE will serve as a satellite of KHNL, while Telemundo Honolulu will continue broadcasting on the facility, via a digital multicast channel. Importantly, it brings “K5” programming — highly local event and scheduled fare — back to the Big Island on an over-the-air facility following its January 2019 shift from Channel 9, even if as a digital multicast offering. ___ In a statement distributed to Gray Television’s Hawaii staff, GM Katie Pickman said, “We are making this further investment in Hawaii to better serve our local communities by expanding the distribution of our programming, including and especially our K5 channel. In addition, we are working to secure a new long-term agreement with Telemundo that allows us to serve the growing number of Spanish-language speakers in Hawaii across our larger footprint.” Edited July 16, 2020 by CircleSeven

CircleSeven 1960 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 (edited) Adding to that, I do see on the Raycom sites, Gray has gotten rid of the "livestream" for a different streaming software, similar to the legacy Gray sites use. For example: WVUE & KCBD. __________ Also, we have another M&A. I guess Gray is going after MeTV in Midland. It wants to acquire MeTV station KWWT from Winstar Odessa, Inc., and Cozi TV LP, KMDF-LD from Martin Weiss for $1.84M collectively. They're seeking a "failed station waiver" to acquire KWWT because Gray already owns the full power CBS station KOSA and "satellite station" KCWO. KWWT was the former CW affiliate before it was moved to a subchannel of KWES in 2013. Edited July 27, 2020 by CircleSeven
