RGSJenkins 435 Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 On Monday, WLIO in Lima debuted their new set, their first in over 20 years. Plus, they debuted a new theme (No VO, orignal but weak and long theme) theme but In-Sink is still used for the bumpers. I'm not sure about the close because my internet has been spotty lately preventing me from seeing or hearing the close. The videos are coming later today, I recorded all but the morning open. (My work schedule has changed meaning mornings are out of the question for the time being, and no I'm not getting up early to record any open unless I'm going to work.) The old set (Pic taken in 2010): Here's a look of the new studio: The open: This was the old set in 2001: Welcome to the 21st century WLIO.

TheRyan 560 Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 The graphics is pretty good. I'm not that big of a fan of the music. I think they could've done better even with royalty-free news music (and there are some good pkgs from that category).
tyrannical bastard 4028 Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 I"m getting a Sinclair-like vibe from the music (it's very much like their current package), as well as their weather graphics (the headers look like their 2008 look) Bigger vibe is from the "Your News Now" text on the on screen bug, looks A LOT like the "Erie News Now" that WICU/WSEE uses. Overall, it's an upgrade, but still rough around the edges in terms of style and function. Being a smaller company and that it's Lima, Ohio, it still looks good.

I do wonder if this was a custom pkg made for WLIO or from something else. I'd be curious to find out where this music originated from.
