None more devastating that for the guy who had to do it, as it is his job.

They aren't usually known for slash and burn like this. Not anymore. When the ViacomCBS merger happened, ownership transferred to the new entity's international division. Basically 10 is now run by the same people who run Channel 5 in the UK. I have serious doubts CBS as a standalone entity would have OK'd these kinds of cuts.
