Christi Paul leaving CNN for Ohio

PTVNews

Recommended Posts

Christi Paul, anchor of New Day Weekend, signed off Sunday morning expressing a desire to move closer to family. Interestingly she said she has an on-air job in Ohio lined up with an announcement coming later this week. I wondering where she's going and who will take her place?

FTVLive is saying she is headed to WKYC:

Well, Tegna sources tell FTVLive that Paul is headed to WKYC to anchor a new 4pm newscast that hasn’t been announced yet.

Word is that the station is trying to keep this quiet because Paul might be coming in and taking another anchor’s job.

Not sure if this is the best fit, I was thinking WEWS.

Argh - WKYC is already a bit “bloated” with talent, with Betsy Kling quasi-anchoring at 5, Laura Caso at 6/11 and poor Sara Shookman relegated to a half hour at 7pm…  (Not to mention the presumably hefty price tag that comes with Jay Crawford and Russ Mitchell.)

Now, with Christi at 4 - a new slot for 3, who is she “replacing”?

Haven't seen any confirmation from her yet but I came across this old article and she apparently was offered a "dream job" at WKYC back in the 90s.

Still when he got a job offer in 1996 to move from West Virginia to Boise, Idaho, and asked her to come along, Paul vacillated. She’d just been offered her dream job as the morning and noon news anchor at WKYC in Cleveland.
