NWA_TV_guy 156 Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Gray’s WLOX on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is utilizing a temporary set for newscasts while a new set is installed in their studio. The current set has been in use since the station went HD in 2011. The debut of their new set will be in December 2022. Source: Brad Kessie
NWA_TV_guy 156 Posted December 1, 2022 Author Posted December 1, 2022 Progress photos as seen in Facebook:
tyrannical bastard 4018 Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 With the severe weather rolling through, it looks like WLOX is using a portion of the new set for weather coverage.... The anchors are still on the temp set.
NWA_TV_guy 156 Posted January 9, 2023 Author Posted January 9, 2023 New set debuts at 4pm on January 9th.
Axiom81 70 Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 WLOX Debuts new set: https://www.wlox.com/video/2023/01/09/take-look-wloxs-new-set-with-our-anchors-meteorologists/ I feel like I'm probably stating this too much at this point, but no local feel to it again. Guess I should give up on thinking the big groups will ever hear this ..oh well.
Geoffrey 872 Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I cannot believe how much time they spent on their new studio and explaining every little thing. Incredibly drawn out.

Incredibly drawn out. Me either - Very detailed - Even down to the explanation of the different colors and when the colors are used. Lol! I thought it was fascinating and hilarious at the same time. I love to see the excitement at the station!

Why are we wasting the viewer's time?
tyrannical bastard 4018 Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 For a Gray station, this set is pretty good. For the market size, it's very impressive. At least they got something halfway decent instead of the "Gray-hound" bus station look that ended up in Panama City and Meridian. Curious to see what Hattiesburg is getting. They also switched the graphics. It took a minute for me to notice, since all these Gray looks run together. It's actually the old package WJHG had before they "bee-came" a honey-comb clone like WTVY, WTVM, WTOK, and others.

Axiom81 70 Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Now I'm curious what WCSC (Charleston) will see after the WLOX reveal. They are also a Gray station, but they have had more unique setups in the past.
Kirkland1009 2 Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 I wonder how long before WTVM gets a new set?
