I like the new set better than Today's. I like the whole Euro/modern look.

 

Maybe that's why I like about this set also. The whole move towards the cleaner sets, including the Today show's and MSNBC's, just seems kind of like a nice evolution over the last generation. Looking around YouTube at some old clips, it kind of amazes me how different Today really looks today, and how aged the other set looked towards the end of it all.

Sports or News?

 

Good question...that's what you get when the Sports President takes over the News Division. What a horrible move for CBS when they put McManus in charge of both divisions. Really blurred the line between sports and news just like Zucker taking over all of NBC.

 

Can't have guys with no general experience running multiple operations. If Zucker sticks to News and McManus sticks to Sports maybe NBC still has a sizeable lead in the news ratings and CBS maybe sees their NFL ratings a little higher.

 

Instead, both men have taken their strengths from each network and made it weak (Zucker-news and McManus-sports)

 

Anyway, I like the new graphics. Seems fresh and light for mornings and the set is modern. Cannot complain about the set (or make comment) because I have seen its versitility yet (cannot get up at 7AM, lol).

 

Overall, another change for The Early Show but this time they may be on to something with taking the format on time and affiliates instead of anchor and content changes.
