Another Telefe news update from Saturday, August 24, 1996, with Noralis Romanos. Includes a preview of the new Argentinian soccer tournament with a different look and music that the newscast had back then, and a station ID.

A small comparison of the 1pm TOTHs between Todo Noticias (TN) and Canal 13; both channels are owned by Clarín. The headlines on each channel are very different: TN devotes more time to politics, finance, international news, sports and weather, while Canal 13 relies on tabloid features, such as murders, armed robberies or kidnappings. Why the news executives differentiate the contents of these channels?

The final segment of the BBC Evening News with Richard Baker, followed by the full broadcast of Nationwide with Frank Bough from Monday, June 8, 1981. Includes regional news for London and the South East.

(BONUS) John Edmunds and the Nine O'Clock News from the same night (see 3:29)

Canal 13's Telenoche kicked off tonight making fun of a recent scandal involving former Argentinian President Cristina Kirchner, so, they mocked a music video of Uruguayan actress and singer Natalia Oreiro.

The final segment of the 1pm edition of Canal 9's Nuevediario from Monday, January 2, 1995, with Alejandro Romay (the station's owner!) anchoring alongside Claudio Rígoli.

Mr. Romay used to filled in for anchors who were on holidays, and had his own interview and commentary segments on the program too! He was also responsible for leading the station's coverage of elections and breaking news many times.

When TV news made headlines: on Friday, May 9, 1997, a television photographer called Guillermo Galvan was accidentally shot by an officer at a police station in José Leon Suárez, Buenos Aires. Thankfully, he survived! This is just a portion of coverage from the stations reporting on the story.

Note: some of the images seen here could be disturbing.

Some station IDs and a brief excerpt of a news opener from Canal 7, Argentina's public broadcaster.

This is from 2006, a couple of years before some political parties/organizations took over the station's news division.

(BONUS) The themes used for the morning/noon and the evening newscasts!

A short closer of Nuevediario in March 1997, with Claudio Rígoli and Osvaldo Granados. Mr Granados (on the left of your screen) was the station's business commentator/analyst, but he was promoted to main anchor when Guillermo Andino departed for América 2 earlier that year. When Nuevediario became 24 Horas in September 1997, he returned to his former commentary position.

PS: I like the animation and the music theme!

Alejandro Etchegorry anchoring Teledoce's evening newscast on Tuesday, August 12, 2003. He's joined at the desk by Laura Daners and Alberto Kesman.

PS: the station used those Nightline-esque graphics and music theme for 16 years (1999-2015)

Almost 10 minutes of Nuevediario in 1993, with Guillermo Andino and Mabel Marchesini. The top story that night was an exclusive interview with one of Pablo Escobar Gaviria's nephews!
