It is very unfortunate to hear that this great voice is no more, nonetheless his legacy lives on. I sympathize with his family and with all the people he has inspired. He is a great man and his legacy will carry on forever more! God Bless You Don, now you get to share your wisdom with the man upstairs!

I didn't even know he was sick. My condolences go out to his friends and family. It's going to be very odd to not hear his voice anymore.

That's unexpected. My heart goes out to his family.

We'll be hearing a lot more of Hal Douglas and Joe Cipriano on the networks.

Very sad to hear this news. He is the King of Voiceovers for sure.

But, tho, he is in a better place now. And I think it is safe to say that God himself, has a new voice today.

Godspeed, Don.

I never knew who "The Voice" was till GMA Weekend did a nice story Don LaFontaine last year.

We keep seeing Don LaFontaine in the NY area as he appears on camera in a NY Lottery ad with Johnny Gilbert, Ed McMahon.

Wow.

I loved him in that GEICO commercial.

Me too. That was one of my favorite ads.

I'm very sad and shocked to hear this as well. Don was truly a legend and his outstanding work will live on for many years to come.

There is only one Don LaFontaine, and he will forever be missed.

Don LaFontaine was the man, the legend among voiceovers, his booming voice makes Scott Chapin sound like a geek. Here's a fitting tribute to him with this vid I found on YT:
