Dan Gross and PhillyGossip are reporting that Anglea Russell is leaving CBS 3 because her contract is not being renewed. No word on when her last newscast will be.

Personally I think it's a major loss to 3. She is a great reporter and has done a lot of work for the station since she came to Philly. She's also one of the nicest employees at CBS 3. Hopefully she'll get end up on 10 or in another major city.

Before I moved from the Philadelphia metro, I had a chance to sit in during a CBS 3 Newscast. After the show, while Marc Howard basically ran out of the studio, she stuck around with me, and I had the opportunity to ask her questions about the business, news, etc., and take a few pictures. Very nice woman, she even talked to me during the breaks! I wish her well in the future.

She gave the station two weeks notice. It's not being renewed by her choice.

Makes me wonder if 3 had offered Angela the new 10pm on WPSG, would she have stayed? Although I like Susan, I wonder why 3 decided on Susan over Angela for the 6&11, since Angela seemed like she was next in line, and instead could have given Susan the 4pm.
