Milton Lewis Passed Away

Milton Lewis, one of the original members of the Eyewitness News team dating back to the 1970s, passed away over the weekend at age 96 (!)

There was a nice piece on him on the 11:00 broadcast on Sunday:

There was also a nice piece on the CW11's 10:00 broadcast last night, which I thought was odd (given how long it's been since Milt's been off the air) - that piece isn't up on the CW11 website....

Damn. He lived a good long life, at least.

From the video footage I've seen of classic EWN he was almost certainly the most distinctive and versatile reporter. He was suitable for any report, from serious stories to complete fluff.

I've seen him doing a report on the closure of a Harlem hospital, and I've also seen him reporting on talking municipal trash cans. Both of these reports were delivered live...on the same newscast.
