I heard on youtube it was WABC.. Does any one know who will get a new set next? And if the comment about WABC is true in any way? Well, I would guess WABC because there have been rumors for such a long time. WCBS just refreshed their set 2 years ago, but they need a new desk. As for WNYW, they just debuted their set 3 years ago and it seems they have been hurting pretty bad in this economy. wabceyewitness 818
No plans for a new WABC set any time soon. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5860-whos-next/#findComment-54825 Share on other sites
newswatcher10 0
My next guess should be is MY9 News they defently need a new set if they wanna make the tranistion to HD news Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5860-whos-next/#findComment-54826 Share on other sites
DMA 135
My next guess should be is MY9 News they defently need a new set if they wanna make the tranistion to HD news Their set is perfectly suitable. Predicting is pointless, but my guess is WCBS. Their set is 6.5 years old, with minor updates. The set isn't horrible though. IceManNYR 240
My9 just needs to tweak that area behind desk it's very generic. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/5860-whos-next/#findComment-54833 Share on other sites
Vlad 325
WABC had got their set refreshed about 2 1/2 years ago after the fire, although the same general style and desk has been there since January 2005, roughly under five years. So when recalling WABC's tradition, they unveiled their previous set with the cockpit and circle 7 logo back in 1995, then they refreshed that to get the new look with the new ABC Circle 7 in 1999 before finally switching to the one they have right now in 2005. So that is about every 10 years or so. I don't expect them to change anytime soon. I would rank them in sixth place if we were to stack the O&Os together, the first place being WLS with their state street studio, then KTRK's massive studio, then KABC, KGO, WPVI and then WABC. I think WCBS is long due for a new set, maybe we can see them change. My9 I wouldn't really think needs one neither, especially since they don't even have that much news hours, I highly doubt they would invest in a new set, lol. It's the same exact set, without the weird plexiglass thing. I wouldn't call the replacement fake ticker thing a refresh.
