IceManNYR 240
Just listening on a regular CRT stereo speaker TV, the grounding hum like sound from Diana Williams mic is very loud tonight. Is there anything they can do to fix it? Is it because they no longer use an board op that it's not being noticed? It's an issue that seems to happen with at least one mic on every newscast. Here's a sample, you can hear the buzz as they come back from break and you hear it go away when they shut the mics off while Lee does the forecast. Another sample going back from Lee to the anchors buzz comes back and it goes way after the toss to Kemberly Richardson in studio. It would have been pretty loud that night because of how much I suspect the gain had to be turned up since you can't see her mic... It's hardly worth the effort to fix. You can only hear it when they're quiet, and it's low enough to be unnoticeable unless you're listening for it or have an ear for that kind of thing. ProButtonPusher 230
the "Female Mic" at work does that - I've tried to find the source, and it's hard to trace. A ground fault ANYWHERE in the audio board chain could be causing it. I'm sure WABC has the same issue. Vlad 325
This has been an issue with WABC for many years now, I'm suprised they haven't corrected it after all this time, it really isn't that big of a deal though since it doesn't really interfere with the presentation of the broadcast.
