The answer to which NYC area Spanish channel goes HD first for local news is Univision 41 WXTV-DT.

I see they hopped on the Gotham-wagon. Good god is it squished in that first picture.

Also, at first glance they look kind of like Giant Octopus did them, what with their signature navy/gold color scheme.

KMEX in Los Angeles also went HD as well.

Univision Puerto Rico WLII has been broadcasting in HD since October 2009. I don't know if they are the first Univision O&O to be in HD.
