Bucc 4 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I came across this promo online. : Here's more: http://www.davidmurrow.com/2010/08/phoenix-abc-15-to-debut-new-social.html I think this is a great idea for stations who need to fill an hour, but don't want to put a traditional newscast. It looks like a great blend of social media and traditional news
lazynetjunkie 34 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 That actually seems pretty similar to the type of morning show that WLS is currently working on creating to fill in the 9AM slot when Oprah ends her show next year.. However, WLS plans on having additional people interaction with having a live in-studio audience too. WLS currently has the working title "Morning Rush" for the new show but title "Live @ 9" has been thrown around too.
first on fox 18 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I guess they said adios to Sonoran Living or w/e...
C Block 1566 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I couldn't help but shudder when the female anchor at 1:01 said "We are a group of journalists who have opinions like all of you, but we're going to push the edge a little bit." I'd rather watch dead air.
l14dap 1 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 This show only works if the anchors have chemistry (and I'm sure viewer interaction goes a long way as well). Otherwise, it has the potential to be an awkward hour of forced banter between the 4 or so hosts.
mre29 1563 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I came across this promo online. : Anyone else notice that they're using iPads in that video? Nice touch.
who?cares 255 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 it seems like a really neat concept, but like somebody said before it's all about the chemistry.
TVNewsLover 787 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I guess they said adios to Sonoran Living or w/e... What's w/e? This show will probably be replacing Martha which is moving to cable.
ABC7 Los Angeles 1 Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Social media is for the internet and it should stay on there. Yea cool, your station has a Facebook page and a Twitter account... who doesn't? No reason to dedicate a whole show to it discussing what viewers are commenting on which usually ends up turning into stupid arguments in the comments section.
