Jodi Applegate to WPIX?

I hope not. Her and Ron are great on News 12 together. I would think that at this point the News 12 job has to be better than the PIX job. N12 is somewhat more stable, she's the face of the station, and it's a cushy job. I wouldn't want to head to a mess like PIX.

However, $$$ speaks. And maybe she has the itch to get back into the city, although from what she has said she's enjoying living on LI. (Though when she moves in with Kay, he probably lives in the city.)

A poster at TVSpy.com said the ratings are up. Not sure by how much, can anybody confirm that? The problem with the ratings is the CW prime time programming. The programming is geared towards teenage girls, as oppose to other networks who target the 18-34 range. I guess what they can do and are doing is trying to get syndicated shows that do draw in the older viewers trying to get more people to watch WPIX (shows like Entourage and Curb you Enthusiasm which are airing this fall).

Yeah CW has always had poor programming, such as Gossip Girl and all of that stuff which is not geared for the 18-34 audience. But then again you question some of the programs on FOX as well, such as Glee which is another teenager geared show along with American Idol on Tuesday and Monday nights, but then again they are much stronger shows than those on CW so thats why ratings on WNYW will always be much better.

Plus the ratings increase that the poster at TV Spy mentioned may only be a temporary thing as much of the shows on FOX aired as re-runs for much of the Summer. Starting Next week with so many season premieres, I doubt that would be the case and I expect WNYW's ratings to soar.

If that indeed is the case, it has nothing to do with Jim & Kaity; they've been the anchor team there forever and the ratings were low. I wonder how much of the uptick is due to the change in format of the news - the addition of "commentators" like Larry Mendte and Lionel. WPIX news now reminds me more and more of WNEW 10:00 News back in the day - I half expect to see and hear a commentary from Victor Riesel!

I personally don't think these changes are for the better - it's less news and more opinion. I do, however, like Greg Mocher, who's really putting the screws to the MTA.
