Mentioned this in the shoutbox yesterday - might be of interest for those who are into North Carolina TV or PBS stations.

 

UNC-TV has retired the old ID they've used since the early 2000s and replaced it with this:

There's a certain faux pas in the new ID that caught my eye immediately...

 

Yep. Technically, they don’t even need to include the ‘-TV’ prefix because it’s just WUNW. WUNC, on the other hand, is legally WUNC-TV.

The old theme made me hum to the theme. Bad part on UNC-TV's end. Its okay if they kept it but with new graphics, but to just replace it entirely is just wrong.

Sorry for being the ultimate party pooper, but am I the only person who liked the USA Today-esque style better than what’s here?

You're not. While I've come around somewhat on the new graphics and look I'm still convinced that the previous set was far better. I made a post about it here.
