Here's a portion of a Canada Tonight broadcast from January 1994 with coverage of the Northridge/Los Angeles earthquake.

CBC used CNN footage (which, in turn, was using footage from KTTV and KTLA).

 

I remember waking up about 730am, as the local radio station aired an ABC News update regarding the quake. Didn't have school that day due to a snow storm, so was able to watch coverage on all 3 of the networks, plus CNN.

 

I recall that KABC's transmitter was knocked off the air for several hours and ABC News received special permission to relay KTLA's signal until KABC could get back on-air.

 

If anyone has footage of the quake coverage, please post.
