  1. Past hour
  2. Same here for 17.2 not much outside The Pistons maybe they'll get AC Grand Rapids when they debut next year. Programming is all over the place as well just threw whatever could stick. Since there isn't much syndication Scripps could've maybe put second hours of GMFB, ICrime, I think Dateline & 48 Hours not sure if that was only for 1 hour per-day or if they had second hours, I thought they did. Outside of Byron Allen's dreck that Sinclair dropped from ARC-WMI this past fall & Funny You Should Ask wasn't much they could get for syndication. Scripps News has all morning 6AM to 12PM M-F.
  3. Today
  4. I wonder when WOOD TV DTs will add Antenna TV since FOX17 dropped it last week. I'm kinda surprised Nexstar didn't try and pick it up once Nexstar bought Tribune or sometime in the early 2020s in my opinion. I don't care either way as I didn't really ever watch Antenna TV.
  5. Liz Dueweke formerly of KCPQ FOX13 in Seattle and KFOX in El Paso has joined the FOX 32 team. Says she will share more details soon. https://www.instagram.com/p/DadJq2JFLxj/?igsh=ZHFpZnl4OXNlbzlx
  6. It was interesting when I saw him work mornings at WCBS knowing that he left WABC because of that shift. I can't blame the guy, there's nothing natural about waking up at 2 AM, and studies show it's harmful to the human body. Plus, the difficulty with a station like WABC is that they have so much senior talent who never leave, so you may never get off of a shift. Marcus Solis (if I'm correct) is still, working weekend mornings ---- it could be his choice. Joe Torres and up until a few years ago Sandra Bookman is still on weekends (could be his/their choice). Leaving WABC might be just what someone has to do to get a better position, being that their talent stays put. Unfortunately in Waller's case it didn't work out for him. he was better off an AM reporter at Disney than Nexstar & Paramount.
  7. I was questioning whether I fell asleep and missed the ball drop, that seems like something that they should show! I liked the segments, it was an OK special.
  8. Allen Media is using AI to edit map, and the logos are destroyed.
  9. well at least Sky won't be owned by Comcast anymore since they're spinning that off.
  10. Former KTEN meteorologist Christine Gormley is joining KOKI/KTUL as the evening meteorologist for 8 (Tulsa’s News Pulse) and helping FOX23 during severe weather coverage on both stations as FOX23 has been and will be handling all weather coverage in Green Country for both stations.
  11. United Kingdom £1.6 billion. That's how much Sky is going to pay for ITV's broadcast and streaming division. In other words, ITV and Sky will be merging. Considering both are legacy brands, I don't know how this will be turned out. Remember, this is for ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, ITV Quiz, ITVX, and everything else associated with it including ITV News and ITV Sport (the UK home of the World Cup). https://news.sky.com/story/sky-to-pay-1-6bn-for-itvs-broadcast-and-streaming-division-13531722

  13. When Blue Ridge PBS (WBRA in Roanoke) was in the process of returning to the FCC their two stations in far southwest Virginia (WMSY and WSBN in Marion and Norton, respectively), they launched "Southwest Virginia Public Television" in 2014 which was carried on local cable systems that once carried the prior two stations. The two over-the-air stations left the air in 2017, but in 2022 they launched "PBS Appalachia Virginia", which is a streaming-only (and cable) PBS broadcaster and has no over-the-air presence. There's also low-power KCWT in Brownsville, Texas, whose 21.4 subchannel serves as PBS for the Rio Grande Valley after KMBH went dark in 2018.
  14. Look at what I just found and I'm going global with this... Bogota, Colombia Friday, March 19th, 1999 The first CityNoticias newscast on Citytv Bogota, yes the same name of the legendary Toronto station which has been seen nationwide in Canada since 2002. To this day, Citytv Bogota is still the only real branded affiliate left outside of the Canadian network. As you can see, the open and style of those early days are EERILY similar to those from the Canadian side, music, presentation, everything. Toronto, Canada Here's a look at the original Citytv to compare and contrast. This is from 1998 (a year before Citytv Bogota launched), featuring three legendary personalities all in their own right: Gord, Anne, and yes, Mark (RIP), THE voice of Citytv.
  15. Seems like they plan on broadcast and streaming (if their "station history" section is any indication). Personally I'm a bit skeptical since parts of the website seem a bit strange...I wouldn't say AI-generated, but the writing is very suspicious (especially the station history section, which is very vague and occasionally puts things that haven't happened yet in past tense). I have used their contact form and asked a few questions, so I'll see if I get any answers. Update: they have a contact page on the official PBS site (where you select your local station) and it says it was updated on the 1st of the month, so it seems pretty legit.
  16. Since WSRE is no longer a PBS station, a new group has emerged that could be the area's next PBS station "Emerald Coast PBS" emeraldcoastpbs.org It's unclear what this organization is, or what their plans are, but it may have plans to bring PBS programming back to a station (or even a virtual one) in the near future. They are soliciting pledges, primarily for former WSRE members who benefited from having access to PBS Passport programming, a standard feature for those who donate at least $5 a month to their local PBS station. Going forward, their best option may be a brokered spot on WPAN-TV. Their entire station is brokered content, including a full-powered repeater slot for WFBD-TV, a TCT station with a fringe transmitter. Does PBS even have any stand-alone low-power stations, or virtual affiliates that lack a broadcast signal? In WSRE's absense, there is a large part of Northwest Florida that no longer has access to PBS programming over the air.
  17. DC Fireworks was delayed and realized today FNC anchors can’t improvise. Honestly, what is Charlie Hurt’s appeal? Please tell me. Will say Rachel Campos Duffy needs to replace Ainsley on F&F weekdays. Seems to be more relatable and likable.
  18. I started watching at 11pm and it was just Sam and Lara dancing. It was so uncomfortable and almost cringe. They didn’t even show the Times Square ball dropping at midnight but a Vegas wedding. It made no sense. Disney/ABC promos had the Illuminations music and it felt like it was going to be another ABC 2000. I was really disappointed with almost everything being reruns or taped stuff. Gave up after an hour. The 8pm special was decent though. Chris Connelly is a great storyteller.
  19. Last week
  20. For anyone here who works for ABC7NY, can you please suggest a better revamp to the newscasts page? It's now IMPOSSIBLE to go further back to view older newscasts. Don't get me wrong, it looks a lot nicer than the previous one, but it's removed a huge amount of functionality by limiting the amount of videos you can scroll through. An option to select a date would be fantastic. I don't know just how many newscast videos are kept on the server, but it'd be nice to have the option to go back at least to the start of the current month.
  21. This is why if you ever get a job at WABC you don’t leave. You deal with the shitty hours for a few years, and then you move to better ones. Derick Waller and Janice Yu both made demands which ended up not boding well for their careers. Waller wanted off mornings and Yu demanded the weekend morning anchor spot. Lesson to all - don’t bite off the hand that feeds you. You do your time, and if you do your job well, you will get a better shift. It might not be anchor, but it will be something other than early mornings.
  22. He also spent some time (freelance?) at WTTG in DC.
  23. Yeah, overnight they reran GMA segments on each state from the past year.
  24. GMA did a special 3 hour Saturday edition for July 4th with Robin, George and Michael on from 7-9am and Whit Johnson, Will Reeve and Rhiannon Ally from 9-10am. The first hour had some great segments from the anchors and correspondent’s on their own American history.
  25. Weekend Today has a nice set up for America 250! Craig and Savannah in to host. Loving the network mic flags, wish they were more common place on national news. Apparently Willie is still seen on MS now post split?
  26. Disney logo on GMA Graphics for ABC's 24 hour nonstop telecast for America 250. I assumed this was going to be something like ABC 2000 with Peter Jennings. David Muir hosting for 24 hours straight. This looks like it's alternating between multiple hosts with a lot of pre-produced segments.
  27. Congrats but Nexstar is not quite the safest place to land if you're worried about layoffs
  28. Updated opening graphics and new music for KOLN/KGIN and satelite KNPL dropped this week. Enforcer ended its 19 year run and was replaced with CBS Local by Stephen Arnold. They have continued to evade GrayOne. Enforcer will be missed, but the new music at least sounds similar and sets a good tempo.
  29. I didn't know about this but since February, Steve Savard has returned to St. Louis television to be a part of the KSDK news team. https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/local/outreach/press-releases/ksdk-5-on-your-side-welcomes-steve-savard-to-highlight-local-veterans/63-8f33f663-2f94-4713-a4a7-30c1b681131c
