  1. CBS not selling here, especially to be downgraded to WSBK.

  2. NBC 33 in Baton Rouge is now Local 33. {Local Branding seems to be the flavor of moment for Nexstar }

  3. I swear the only place they have not tried as a stand up spot is the restrooms and cafeteria. At any second I expect Anne to wander out on to highway 94 only to be run over by the braking news crapper. I actually found myself watching Miss Piggy and the 4pm NBC7 offering just so I could "come down". KGTV needs to spend the money for a Steadicam Jr, and a real trained operator like KSWB did.

  4. I just think GMA and ABC would be dumb if they pretended like nothing is happening. Today has been gaining A LOT of momentum and if they aren't careful, they are going to be in trouble.

  5. Plus she moved to Minnesota. That would be one heck of a commute.

  6. Wow! I was just in Seattle visiting and was looking at KIRO's website. I noticed Chris' name and remarked that he's been there "forever". Really sorry to hear about this! Sending thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Thanks to Chris for 30+ years of solid reporting! We need more journalists as dedicated as him.

  7. Their rating position behind WBNG and potentially their switch to Fox, which occurred not long after this open series, have not helped in the long run.

  8. Makes me wonder why WICZ only has two newscasts. I thought they would have more by now.

  9. WICZ in 1995: Very attractive logo. The station-made talent part of the open is noticeable.

  10. So, KFMB is once AGAIN looking for a morning meteorologist. Saw the job posting on their website. Currently, Kimi Evans does the AM weather, she joined the station in early May from XETV. She replaced Natasha Stenbock whom left on maternity leave and decided to stay home taking care of her twins. Not sure why they're looking to fill the AM weather position, but Evans has been out for several weeks now due to some voice/vocal cord problems.

  11. Towards the end of Maddow tonight, an alternative ticker design came up for hurricane coverage. It was divided into 4 sections with storm information. It looked like it would be a "flipper" but I did not see it do anything (wasn't really paying close attention). Maddow won't get axed, and Hayes just won an Emmy so I can't imagine they'd throw him out either. Wouldn't really miss Lawrence O'Donnell though. He's just... Dry? I don't know how else to put it.

  12. No kidding. The old graphics alone were a mishmash of Look A and their attempt at mimicking Look F.

  13. Ugh. Looks very small market.

  15. Pulled a WVTM with that logo, and I like it. The peacock in the middle is unique. This is well overdue and welcome. I love that they're using Evolution, too.

  16. I think WFAA should also get Charlie Van Dyke as their VO.

  17. Looks like they went with Evolution for their news music and Charlie Van Dyke for their VO. That's a big relaunch for them.

  18. That's the best set I've seen for a Nexstar station. Hopefully KTSM will get something similar (but I hope they keep the NC9 branding). Here's some vid.

  19. This is 1,000,000 times better than their previous look. The station should be grateful for Nexstar's ownership because they are finally bringing change to the last-place station.

  20. That's a really nice graphics package. Now if they would just get some adults to write the copy for the show... Seriously the writing on WNT is some of the most bizarre I've heard in TV News.

  21. KGTV as well, though they had their 7 PM broadcast prior to Scripps buying them.
