  3. I remember CBS News winning the ratings for last November`s midterm coverage as well. Even more telling, ABC News placed third with their coverage. I believe ABC News` editorial decision to "lighten" up their newscasts on a day-to-day basis has resulted in viewers turning to the other networks (especially CBS) when big news breaks. The reason being, viewers are left with the idea that ABC News won't cover big news events as in-depth as the other two channels. CBS News is capitalizing on this trend with their more serious tone - hence, the major ratings improvement for them on Friday night.

  5. I find that surprising. One week back and another week gone again. But we all know Cox likes promoting within. More the "experience doing stories" angle than the "experience within the town" angle. (For better examples, see Jacksonville.) I know Cox is trying their damndest to mold 25 in their own image, but as mentioned numerous times, what works in one market may not exactly work in another. On a related note, maybe they can stop with those IDs they've been airing since before she was on maternity leave. That aside, best wishes to her (and meterologist/husband Jason Brewer, who's leaving WESH).

  7. Interesting structure. The deal is composed of a time brokerage deal to close next month and then Nexstar should get the licenses by late 2016. Also, Perry Sook worked at WOWK, the article notes. Who would have ever thought that someday he'd own the station?

  9. The desperation gets worse as they are offering only $100 to watch the morning show. One promo says it's really a "gift card"....but Cha Cha Cimigunga says it's cash. Hell we have local radio stations giving away $1000 every morning. But yup... The ultimate proof your product sucks is to give away money during sweeps.

  10. I had kind of forgotten that Juju was News-anchor at one time. She was not there very long, her tenure really seem to fly by. Juju was there for 15 Months. Josh tenure was on 2 Years 10 Months but seem like it was longer then that for some reason. In looking at past GMA News-anchors none of them seem to be there for more then 4 years except for Steve Bell who was News-anchor for 11 years. Although I think Amy will still be News-anchor by 2019 making her the Second Longest Serving.

  11. I was a BIG fan of the original WB11 Morning News team. Watched them every morning from their debut until a few months after Lynn White was let go. Then I switched back to Good Morning America.
