  1. Jim Dolan just tweeted that he is returning to air after eight weeks off. Anybody know why he was off for two months? Couldn't have been vacation, and he hasn't given any indication that it was a medical leave. He's been critical in the past of WABC management decisions (I'm thinking in particular of the email he sent following the exit of Sarah Wallace). Can't help but wonder if this was a suspension. Pure speculation, of course.

  2. If by "sad" you mean "a little disappointing", and by "breaking news" you mean "happened a week ago", then yes, that's some "Sad Breaking News".

  3. I wasn't really criticizing them, station groups have different opinions for hubbing and automation and they have positives and negatives. but to say a station group isn't automating because they're "cheap" is laughable and 100 percent false.

  4. Yes, and the "Idaho 8" package appeared in their 1990 demo. It looks like KIFI added quite a few new elements and modifications. It gets better, too... WHO...in 1974! There are also KCCI fragments, a couple of fragments, and home video.

  5. I feel 95% certain it's News Watch based on the bit at 13:47 - it lines up perfectly with this from NMN (though they label it as News Station, the signature lines up with News Watch). As for the graphics, TVbD's list on their site did list KIFI around the same timeframe as that zombie KOTA package...

  6. Denise White is back on Tampa Television. She's now doing University Beat with co-host Hetal Gandhi, Sunday nights at 6:30pm on WUSF Channel 16, the secondary PBS station in Tampa. http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/92329/wusf-tampa-hires-two-journalists Glad to hear that Denise White is back on Tampa Television. Well respected, well honored and well deserved. Plus, I guess she wasn't ready to "retire" after all.
