  1. It's the spectrum auction.....with people!

  2. ABC's 50th anniversary special from 2003. News segments are on 1:01:58 (Barbara Walters retrospective leading into a GMA retrospective with Diane Sawyer), 2:03:39 (bloopers with Charles Gibson) and 2:39:16 (Jennings and Koppel). Also at the tail end, WFTV open with Opsahl and Salt which is longer on my main channel ( - forgive the slight video slowdown at the beginning).

  3. David Shuster who was indefinitely suspended from MSNBC in April 2010* for taping pilot episodes for CNN appeared for a block on Morning Joe today. I believe he was solely brought on because she he's a native of Indianna to discuss legendary basketball coach Bob Knight's endorsement of Donald Trump. I wonder if MSNBC and Shuster are warming up again with CurrentTV / Al Jazeera America being gone. I only make this comment because there has to be tons of people they could of talked to about the endorsement but they chose to bring on an anchor who left the network in unfavorable circumstances for a fifteen minute conversation. Hell when Chris Licht (former EP/ co-creator of Morning Joe) accompaniend Gayle King and Charlie Rose as CBS This Morning EP to Late Night with Seth Meyers he was placed on a list of names that require Phil Griffins permission to get into 30 Rock. *I don't know when he officially left the network but he started subbing in for Keith Olberman for Countdown at CurrentTV in June 2011.

  4. This is what happens when you do news on the cheap. Somebody didn't want to pay a guy to gather his own news...instead he was paid to cheat off the chicks notes sitting next to him...and she juked him. Poor sucker has no date to the prom now.

  5. This is Albany, GA....and a former Barrington station. Not helping matters is the 800 pound gorilla WALB with both NBC and ABC; as well as WCTV's semi-satellite WSWG as competition. I'm not even sure they're 16x9. Just up the road in Macon is WGXA which we all know is pumping out beautiful 4x3 SD!

  8. And yet the TEGNA, with the TV and digital assets, has a better chance of being able to service it's debt.

  9. The more dominant the station, the less that needs to change.

  10. Well I don't think FOX needs spectrum auction cash like some others do, and I would fester a guess that the viewership via the cable channel is much greater then the sub-channel would be. My guess is they are just going to "dual image" KTVU and KICU. Not more news or really anything different. Just more consolidation in graphics and places where you can save money. Somebody elsewhere floated the thought that it may be a news intensive thing. Right now there is no indication of that in any way, shape or form. It will not be the new home of the KTVU Castaways.

  11. I feel bad for all of them as all of them are passionate in what they do.

  12. More then likely won't happen as Dan & Dennis are roughly the same age (few years difference between them I believe) they are either going to shuffle Mark & Greg around or hire someone from a medium size market that's less then 45ish to be their main anchor.
