  1. I'm sure she's under the care of a medical professional whom has given her a letter/authorization for medical leave. Had she started to miss work without a doctor's order, then she would have been fired for breaching her contract. The fact that she is coming back implies that A.) WCBS is aware/understanding/ok with her extended leave and B.) that she has not done anything to breach her contract with the station. Whether anyone thinks her situation is no big deal, etc., is irrelevant. As long as WCBS, Dana and her team are in agreement about the situation at hand and how to proceed with it, then this issue is between them. She'll be back when it's prudent for everyone involved.

  2. Thank you. I love all the comments and speculation (about what's clearly a personal situation) that are based on gossip column reports in tabloids that are writing articles with comments from unnamed sources.

  3. Dana Tyler filled in for Kristine Johnson today at 5:00 (alongside Dick Brennan, who was in for Maurice DuBois). This was a very rare 5:00 anchor appearance for Dana. Usually they'll have Alice Gainer as the main fill in for Kristine at 5:00 (Alice was also working today - she reported at 5:00).

  4. Spot on. And even if the rumors are true, it's no one's business but hers. She's human, she's entitled to have feelings. For anyone to criticize her because of what she's going through, is really low. Love her, hate her, it doesn't matter. She deserves respect and privacy. When she's ready to address this issue, she will.

  5. News Director Larry Perret & Senior EP out at WGCL/CBS Atlanta; Frank Volpicella steps in as new ND coming from KVUE in Austin. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/5/31/blowout-in-atlanta http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/05/31/yet-another-cbs46-news-director-departs-this-time-after-20-months/

  6. But they don't normally want to sell.

  7. If they renovated the bathrooms or kitchen they would greatly increase the value of the station.

  8. Big deal; WGCL on Friday preempted CBS primetime (which were all reruns, of course) for an even better film: "Awakenings" (followed by something called "Raw Travel" at 10:30)! On two different Saturdays in 2014, it was CBS 46 who ran "Gran Torino" and "Rudy" in primetime. You should say that it was a throwback to their independent days (as WANX/WGNX), when they used to air movies nightly at 8:00 pm.

  10. Thank you. I'm sorry things went so poorly at the end of the relationship, but this much time off to cope is ridiculous. If you need three months to get over a break-up, I'd hope she got some professional help. I'd also hope her employer would recognize that B.S. shtick.

  11. No disrespect to her, but if I or any of you took that much time off because we were heartbroken and depressed, we no longer would be employed. She should have taken two weeks off, and then further coped with it while returning to work.

  12. I'm not all too surprised. Jason was being seen less and less on WEWS to the point where he only does noon and weekends, and WOIO has been looking to replace Jeff Tanchak especially since the change from 19 Action News to Cleveland 19 News. I think he's a good meteorologist; he'll do very well at 19.

  13. That's identical to WNBC's "Better Get Baquero."
