3. Totally agree why not hire 2 male anchors one for weekend mornings with Andrea the other for weekend nights with Cindy.

 4. There was a storm whenever the season premier of Big Brother was and there was severe weather a tornado watch every station WLS WMAQ WGN AND WFLD... WFLD was on way before them even though WFLD has showing improvement they are usually the last one to break in they beat WBBM TO THE PUNCH. And after WBBM was on and they went off at the usual time at 10:34. WFLD lasted til almost 11 WGN 11 WLS 12:05 and WMAQ 12:10 am. Point being :WBBM does not like breaking in during primrtime

 5. Another observation WBBM IS VERY RELUCTANT to break in during primetime programming. They did break in that one time but CBS made them re air the entire primetime lineup after that maybe thats why their so reluctant.

 6. I think Phil and Larry have handled it well enough on their own.

 7. They also dragged Byron in, too. None of the other stations dragged their weekday meteorologists into the mix; just WMAQ.

 9. I think that was planned ahead for the RNC convention coverage. Lester and Scott anchored their respective broadcast for the same reason too.

 10. I've seen them do better than that. If they have updates to last night's content, I'm fine with that, but repeated content with no updates, there's the exact problem you just mentioned, which by the way, I completely agree with you on that. If they're going to keep going, they can't just recycle the same content from last night, or else they might as well hand it over to the affiliates for the 5:30 pm local news (or 6:30 pm in the Colonial Time Zone, which is my name for the Eastern Time Zone) much like Fox does with its affiliates

 11. It'll probably be just that -- a "breaking news" anchor to cover large, non local breaking stories who will, on occasion fill in for someone who is off. see: Sandra Parker on Daybreak. She's done the newsroom, the anchor desk when Andre or Lucy are off AND has filled in for Ashley doing traffic.

 12. I noticed for the past 2 nights, PIX has been going without a crawl on the 10pm newscast. I like the change, looks more professional, especially without that ugly orange thing on the bottom of the bug. It's not that I'm against crawls, PIX's crawl just looks ugly IMHO. The next thing that should be changed is the background.

 13. WSB's Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns caused a stir on the Gulf Coast after reporting on several beaches being closed by high levels of toxic bacteria in the water... http://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/no-swim-advisory-issued-for-florida-panhandle-beaches/372684102 Originally, he reported in one post about it being "flesh eating"...the above report has been updated. Based on the backlash, it sprung WMBB and WEAR into action to dispute the reports... http://www.mypanhandle.com/news/erroneous-reports-cause-swimming-concerns-at-local-beaches http://weartv.com/news/local/chief-meteorologist-allen-strum-no-flesh-eating-bacteria-in-our-waters UPDATE: Even WJHG and Weather God James Spann have taken to social media to set the record straight... Still, it may not be the best weekend to wade in the water on the Gulf Coast...

 14. Not just that, a new one-hour newscast at 4:00pm on the station's 64th birthday, July 18th. Signed on-air July 18th, 1952.

 15. They'll probably never have one because it's better to complete when all the stations in NYC have news at noon, versus at 11am where you complete against The Price Is Right on WCBS and The View on WABC, both powerhouses in the market when it comes to network programming.

 16. All the NBC O&Os schedules are practically identical. Philly, DC, Miami, and CT all are on east coast, and all do 11am. When LA moved thier's from noon to 11am, it was only announced on short notice. Same with Chicago back when that happen. So while it may not happen, the reasons you offer are not on point and make no sense whatsoever.

 17. There are stations on the west coast and even in the midwest who have a noon broadcast. KPRC in Houston for example has a noon broadcast. Only reason KNBC moved its noon to 11am was to compete with KABC and KCBS who have 11am broadcasts.

 18. To validate your argument, we all will gladly ignore WVIT, WCAU, WRC and WTVJ's newscasts at 11am...eastern time.
