  1. Cause WMAZ has the foundation and Experience and the Books to do it right. WGXA had a Crappy owner in Frontier who put a new set in 2010 but not new cameras and Live trucks and control room upgrade. Sinclair owns them now and obviously is not in any hurry to upgrade WGXA to HD news. Poor WMGT had no news from 1992 - 2004 and then didn't go HD till 2 yrs. ago with a vitural set (mind you all of Morris Comm. is going to this model) even then, they have always been short staffed and way under experienced compared to WMAZ and even WGXA. Dont even start on the Rathole Stinkpot of WPGA. Lowell Register is the Definition of CHEAP

  2. Agreed - whether it be "Good Question" or "Taste with Tori" they should have been placed in the "lighter" broadcasts of mornings, noon or 5pm. 6pm and 11pm are about hard news. Reinventing local news by going soft failed once before for KYW - but for some reason we are now suffering through it again.

  5. Jose Diaz-Balart is the new Saturday Nightly News anchor. Since he anchors Noticiero Telemundo weeknights and Enfoque on Sunday morning, he will be working 7 days a week. He will no longer anchor for MSNBC and Craig Melvin will take his hour. http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/jose-diaz-balart-nbc-nightly-news-saturday-1201813657/#article-comments

  8. The vacancies keep piling up @ WMAQ. Ponce wasn't going to get that weekday morning spot (Alex was the only choice from the start). Plus, while it's a move from weekends to weekdays, what young person really wants to wake up at 3A, work until 12:30/1P and go to bed at 7/8P? Given he has a newborn at home, I figured Ponce would want to keep the schedule he had. Guess not...
