  1. Forgive me but this always annoys the crap out of me.. GMA and Today are essentially the exact same program with different personalities. How is it possible that you're capable of tolerating one but hate the other one for the exact same thing? I guess my issue with it is because people seem to give TODAY a pass for their constant Kardashin, Duggars, and Hollywood drivel while railing against GMA for providing the same content? Both shows should fail, I think they're both garbage.

  2. I half-expected to see Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor and Al Borland behind the anchor desk.

  3. Michael Strahan decided to speak to People Magazine for an on camera and print about his relationship with Kelly Ripa and did not portray the "Live" debacle in the best possible way... all that as he's describing how he's all about being a good player for the Disney/ABC team. And now, ABC execs aren't thrilled. On a related note, he's still pretty awful as pretend-news anchor for GMA. I really hope they act quickly to fix this.

  6. Could be; good observation. Not sure about the others, but Bill planned to be in Monday/Labor Day all along.

  7. Living in West Virginia I can tell you the WVMH stations are in various stages of need. Of the 4, WOWK 13 in Charleston/Huntington is the most professional looking. WTRF 7 is at the other end of the spectrum. It is HORRENDOUS. Imagine a college TV station with students and neophytes staffing the news department. No creative services/promotions to speak of and a general look and feel that is backwoods reckneck at best. I grew up watching the station and in its glory days it was a force to be reckoned with. But ever since it's affiliation switch to CBS in 1980, and several ownership changes: Tri-Cities Broadcasting, Forward Communications, Wesray, Adams Communications, Brissette Communications, Benedek Broadcasting and finally West Virginia Media Holdings. Each of which lowered quality and lowered the bar overall. It is a sad, sad shell of its former self.

  8. The same goes for WXYZ and now potentially WEWS... Not even close to what the original idea was. It maybe a sign Scripps realized their idea was a dud. I get that. But it's hard to fix a dud without just throwing it out and starting fresh.

  9. A few minutes of the 10pm news from the then-independent WTTV in 1990. The news department was shut down later that year.

  10. They should just spend the .99 cents to go normal and keep news. If it works in Milwaukee let them have it but where it doesn't work cut your losses. It's only good business sense.
