  1. It appears the sale has closed. RIP Media General. And say a prayer for anyone you knows that still works for them.....they're going to need it.

  2. Katie Moore of New Orleans WWL (CBS) is changing roles. Moore will stepping away from the anchor desk to focusing on investigative reporting 5 days a week. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/new-orleans-anchor-moves-to-investigative-reporting/184278 Long-time anchor Anne Holt of Nashville's WKRN (ABC) announced on last night newscast she's stepping away from the anchor desk after 36 years at the end of this month. Holt has been at WKRN for 40 years when she joined in 1976 and became primary anchor in 1980. Holt and her co-anchor Bob Mueller had become the longest running anchor team in the history of Tennessee Television for over 30 years since 1984. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/anne-holt-to-step-away-from-anchor-desk-after-36-years/184259 And on a emotional note, Sports Anchor Kristen Berset of Washington DC's WUSA (CBS) is taking time off from the newscasts to battle her second fight with breast cancer. No woman should ever have to fight this deadly disease, and let's hope there's a cure is right around the corner. TVNT is wishing KB all the best and command her courage and strength to kick cancer's ass second time, and looking forward to seeing you on the news again soon. http://www.wusa9.com/news/local/wusa9s-kristen-berset-battles-cancer-for-second-time/386551897

  3. Actually there is some real news here. It was sold to a real estate developer... Who presumably will develop the site for a profit...and NOT lease out an almost 60 year old plant for the long term. You can move WGN(and friends) into a 50,000 sqf state of the art plant for a fraction of the cost over the long term. WGN= Future HOA? I do not believe the WGN press release stating they are there for the "long term"...not for 1 second. Developers don't sit on 60yo TV stations, I give WGN 3-5 yrs before they move.

  7. I'm kind of surprised Signature is still offered. A lot of other Arnold packages of the era have unfortunately been retired (Finale originated in the same year as Signature and has held up better in my view), but somehow, that overly-sentimental old package keeps going. It doesn't help that a lot of the newer-sounding cuts don't sound like they fit in, beyond the musical logo. When Arnold updated the ancient Wall to Wall News, they at least added brass that was meant to help the newer cuts blend in with the older ones.

  11. So how many Nexstar markets are carrying this "Big Game" tailgate special? Other than Texas, around New England or Atlanta, or a FOX affiliate, it seems like a power play for them to throw their weight around and sell the living daylights out of it...

  13. Six years ago today, Chicago was in the midst of what would be the 3rd largest snowfall in the city's history. Here's the ABC 7 News at 6pm (WLS) from that day (in all its retro glory)...
