With so many stations, how are their newscasts structured?

Tonight will be the final First Forecast for WWJ-TV chief meteorologist Jim Madaus. He is retiring after 33 years in Detroit television. He may have worked for a joke of a station, but he is without a doubt one of the best in the business. Wishing Jim all the best in retirement.

Besides the creepy synth wind noises that sound straight out of some cheap VHS horror movie, I love the dramatic talent introductions. SALTER *dun, DUN, dun*

One more I think is noteworthy:

It's like they tried to combine WNBC's old open with WPVI's open, but failed miserably.

KSAT in 1994 -- who in the heck would make a news open this creepy? Apparently whoever was channel 12's general manager at the time.

Lawrence just informally announced at the end of the show tonight that he has re signed with MSNBC and The Last Word will continue.

If you watch closely at the video titled "WILX Channel 10", the graphics sorta put me in mind of KXTV in a way. Anyway, getting back on topic, I noticed that KHON used a theme that had a three-note signature at the end. It can be heard at around :13 into the video. KHON did use the "2 Belongs" slogan during the early 1980s and this leads me to believe that KHON may have used Peters Productions' "X Belongs" at that time. I could be wrong though. Anyone willing to chime in?

Do they have "breaking news" in the L3 enough times?
