  1. That news anchor during the tease looks exactly like Ron Burgundy, but with a smaller amount of hair!

  3. Hate to bring up such an old post, I have the answer. It's Chris de Burgh, believe it or not. A deep track called "Last Night".

  4. Major shifts are about to be underway at Scripps' original Circle 7: so far, it is known that Denise Isaac and Joanne Purtan will be let go. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/2/6/more-out-in-motown I presume this has to do with the corporate restructuring mentioned at the top of this page.

  5. The idea was obviously to give a regional touch to the news department on a station that seemed to otherwise be aiming much more for Toronto as time went on.

  6. I still like the 90s CityPulse themes better. That is one bright set. I like the superimposed map, that's a neat thing. And whose idea was it to call the news op "VRLand News"? That's just bizarre.

  7. A TV on a stand doesn’t do much. Seems like work is being done but they may not have the space to relocate. I imagine that corner is going to get one of the 90° corner video walls like WBTS and WRC have.

  8. Probably my single favorite Canadian news theme...and I've never seen the original open with it! By early '97, they'd tightened up the open. And get a load of the set!

  9. I never said I HATED her! I really wanted her to win!! I just said that she did a not so smart thing on Monday. We can all agree that was overkill if you like her or not. She just need to grow thicker skin if she let that hurt her. People already don’t care for her because of Fox News so that means she has to just try to prove the general public wrong. It’s not fair but it’s the way it is right now. Again I don’t hate nor care if she’s a republican! It just seem like the culture at FOX News is to attack when things don’t go their way. **We must stop assuming that when people don’t agree with the actions of journalists/media personalities that we must hate them and want them to fail! That wasn’t my intentions at all but more of awareness.

  10. Never going to understand all the Megyn Kelly hate for no damn reason yet the defending of people like Matt Lauer. Some of you are really something.

  11. A little good natured ribbing... practically everybody here is full of useless information... nobody can cure cancer with it but it’s good enough for a hobby.

  13. I can live with the color. I just hope this is a temporary setup and they plan to do more to finish off this space. If not, this is a wasted opportunity and a huge step backwards.

  16. The color scheme feels so WBBM, and not in a good way, IMO.

  18. A KSNW newsbreak from 1986 using possibly the potential Peters/Chip Davis package that the Hatch Family stations used in the mid-1980s - wouldn’t be too surprised if this package was also used by KUTV, or even if they were the commissioners (KUTV debuted the Welch graphics in ‘84, KSNW was using “All The News” and a cheap WFSB knockoff around that time):

  19. I guess TVbD was left unnamed due to not being local. Unfortunately, there's not much footage of KMPH's non-news image elements online, but I happen to have an ID followed by a stereo L3 graphic at the beginning of a program, which I got on VHS almost 20 years ago. I believe the same person sent the Fresno clips to TV Ark back in the 00s. The ID music is great, and the announcer even says "Now in stereo!"
