There's no reason to change the music. Part of the reason Eyewitness News is successful is because it has a long history and a recognized brand. The music is part of that. Loyal viewers who have been watching for 10, 20, 30+ years like it and like the consistency. They don't like change.5 points

WFAA News Director Carolyn Mongo said to unclebarky that further makeovers are coming for WFAA. The station is intent on seizing that momentum, Mungo says. “We will be finally getting a set refresh at Victory (Park) in mid-late April,” she tells staffers. “SO -- by May we will have a new ‘brand’ logo launch, a more robust marketing campaign, and a new set! I wanted to thank the entire team for the hard work. I may not see you often, but the morning show is the most important show we do. I huddle with Sheena (Daybreak executive producer Sheena Autin) every day. It is exciting to see our upward trend. There is no stopping us.” http://unclebarky.com/dfw_files/6aaaf426fc48cc951094cc20afe48956-4145.html Say goodbye to This Is Home and hello to C Clarity and Tegna-Set-In-A-Box. IMO, I wish they would get a better news theme with "The Spirit" signature.4 points

With WNYT's vintage set finally meeting its end, some vintage WNYT. On May 31, 1998, a series of tornadoes hit the suburban town of Stillwater and an archival tape of news coverage made by the town in its wake made its way to YouTube. Most of this is WNYT though there are bits and pieces of WRGB and WXXA strewn about. If you're looking for peak WNYT, this video has it: Ed Dague being Ed Dague. John Gray before his ego got the best of him. Chris Kapostasy weeks before her departure for NBC News. A very young Kumi Tucker and a treat for the Hampton Roads crowd: pre-meteorologist Julie Wilcox before Hubbard screwed her over. Enjoy!2 points

It probably will be. It could be too. All I know is that the WFAA logo look that we've all known will be no more. TEGNA likes to change it up.1 point

I saw in an old book about TV, where they (people) used to have to get up and walk to the TV to change the channel. That was before the world was in color ...in the olden days.1 point

A similar situation happened in Milwaukee, too. From 1990 to 1992, WTMJ branded itself as "Milwaukee's 24-Hour News Channel," while WISN branded as "Your 24-Hour News Service". Other than these instances, for the most part, the "24-Hour News Source" format wasn't used simultaneously among competing same-market stations in very many places during the period it was widely used.1 point

This is about the fifth set I've seen that has the girders, the monitor banks, the rounded desk, etc. The most infamous one would be KNXV's "spaceship" set, and I've seen similar ones in use at WGNX (during the late indie/early CBS era), WOIO/WUAB (during the "Cleveland Television News" period), and maybe a couple others. Does anybody know who designed all these sets?1 point
