  1. Compare to the '87 & 88 intro of WSVN's 11pm News intro. You'll notice the difference in the NewsCenter 7 Tonight opening. The NBC peacock on their Satellite truck (Skycom 7) in the 1988 11pm open was removed knowing that 'SVN is losing its NBC affiliate to 'TVJ in 1989.

  4. Two classic WSVN clips. The latter has a short but sweet version of WSVN's version of Come home to NBC. So Sad. Wish they kept it till at least the fall of that year.

  6. I agree, the new COVID graphics look great. The lower thirds are more soft and the open could easily be adapted to live rolling news, simply swap out the COVID pictures and insert pictures from news as it's happening (just like ABC News Australia's open) make other subtle changes to fit MSNBC day time and it would be awesome. I also like how they are doing the headlines with the graphics and new format for them, the headlines stand out way more than they have in recent years, adding a newsy feel to MSNBC daytime which has been lacking recently.

  8. Nothing new. The current graphics package was supposed to launch with Aerial. That didn't happen for some reason, but they apparently paid SAM for the rights to the package, so it pops up randomly.

  11. I know it’s a competitive industry but in a city with about 6-7 news options, being a solid and steady #2 isn’t reason to change. The industry is so obsessed with who is first but in saturated markets, #2 is not a bad place to be at all.

  15. Sven Sundgaard out at KARE/Minneapolis. Turns out TEGNA indeed has a problem with staff calling people "white nationalist Nazi sympathizer gun fetishist miscreants"
