Ooh, even some early 2000s KTVA: This guy has had a LOT of career stops (there's also WAAY, KIVI and KRGV on his channel!).

These videos were posted 9 years ago on YouTube, but I am about to share these. First, we have a Guam Cable News broadcast from 1988 as anchored by Kurt Chaisson. The theme they used was "The One & Only" by Klein&. And also, we have a KGNS news open and clip from the 1980s. The theme they used was "Newscore" by VTS Productions. I’m honestly surprised this many people watch whatever CBS is doing at 6:30 to have noticed this.

It seemed, from our control room, to happen pretty quick. I always watch for the countdown on CBS Net as we roll copyright, but they were still in black. About 5 seconds to network, they started the promo loop. We received the "technical difficulties" wire from CBS around 5:32 central time, so I'm assuming they were caught off guard by the situation. In their defense, you can have 100 backup plans, but if you don't have the time to institute them, then you (and your entire network) are SOL. The only saving grace was CBSN, but the fact that it wasn't live becomes a separate issue.

Eh, might as well have the affiliates take over the weeknight show, too. No one would notice, right?

Can't get enough of the premiere of the WSVN Newsplex? Well here's some snippets of a full days worth.

It's a shame that 1) these are recorded off of a phone via TV screen and 2) there are no news intros, since it's clearly the end of Al Ham's "On Top Of It All" in those 1977 KUTV news clips. It looks like this user made a trip to the University of Utah's Moving Image Archive, which has a collection of KUTV newscasts.
