  1. We’re heading into 4 months of social distancing, how hard is it to deep clean the place (which should have happen 3 months ago) and come up with comprehensive plan to create a ‘new normal’ so people can get back to work (particularly at CBSN). Most days, Anne Marie and Vladimir look like they just rolled out of bed. CBS really needs to get it together.

  2. You do know that Universal Music broke away from Universal Pictures in 2004 when GE bought them so they’re actually not subsidiaries. Via Wikipedia NBC makes their own graphics packages in-house, as well as several other companies, so how would that be different than production music?

  3. If you need, say, production music, as a service, and you buy almost all the production music companies to perform work in house, and leave other consumers little options across the free market, that by most definitions is anti-competitive.

  4. Being the broadcast junkie that I am, one ends up not only finding love with TV stations, but also radio stations (and for me, the latter came first). Well, I discovered an interesting little footnote: TMStudios is an E.W. Scripps company. TM was owned by Jones Media Group (then known as JonesTM). Jones was purchased by Triton (and renamed TM Studios), Triton Radio Networks (now Triton Digital) in 2008. Triton was purchased by Scripps in 2018. Ergo, why are the Scripps stations using Stephen Arnold Music when they have their own composers in-house?

  5. CBS Weekend News is in the Los Angeles bureau this weekend (not from KCBS or KCAL's studio). Maybe the road show isn't over yet...

  6. Some WTEN and WNYT commercials from 1991: The WNYT stuff is from the tail end of their “News 13” era - includes slides for their anchors, a news brief, and a promo for “Buy New York First” sponsored by Evergreen Bank (now TD Bank).

  9. Wow, thats awful. I hope he gets better soon! I remember that was the very newscast that groomed me into my interest into WABC and the news in general. Especially after school during my childhood. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

  11. WTVD should allow the inflammatory president to be outted as such especially when using his very own words. Not sure why you felt the need to identify yourself as a Trump supporter at all to provide an opinion on this either... oh wait, yes I do.
