  1. Couple of real rarities uploaded by btm0815ma over the past few days. Among them... Some Super Bowl II reports filed by Ted Koppel (!) And possibly the earliest complete ABC newscast I know of, from January 25, 1968 (one of the first after Bob Young took over the lead anchor job when it was determined Peter Jennings was clearly too green to be a network anchor)

  2. From Charlotte... full WSOC-produced 10pm newscast on WCCB in 1994

  3. WLS 10pm open from 8/13/1984 that followed an ABC Olympics highlight show. Anchoring is Mary Ann Childers... ...with new weekend anchor Mike Jackson, fresh from WMAQ. Mary Ann gets top billing, as John Drury has not yet arrived from WGN, hence the pregnant pause between names, and not an "and." Oh, and AM Chicago Oprah.

  4. Nothing on the set matches. Even their promo department hates the new set — all the promos use footage from the previous set.

  5. Still in L.A., here's a 1991 KTTV newscast with Edd Kalehoff's short-lived theme:

  6. Four. Jill Konopka took a "dream job" (which seems to be outside TV) in Boston though she seems to tweet like she's still a journalist. Perhaps it's a stepping stone of sorts, Boston is one of those markets full of alumni from Albany stations. If this was anyone else on the morning team or any of the remaining veteran anchors, I'd be a bit concerned. There is a huge chasm between "market vets" and "twentysomething kids" on both fronts there.
