  1. I do like the new ABC logo, but not the size of it. Rather the ABC size be same size as the 7 logo and be right beside it. Like CBS 2 for example. By 2033, we should have this logo.

  2. What a waste of time and money ... and what horrible Circle 7 co-logos they are forcing on their station group and affiliates. Hopefully this leaked branding kit is just a draft and not the final mandate for stations.

  6. It is a CBS test pattern. WCIA (which streams most of the CBS' special reports on its YouTube channel) had a stream of CBS' coverage of Trump's second impeachment trial and after the coverage ended, they kept the stream going for a few more minutes, and it displayed the same test pattern. In this case, KXJB probably accidentally switched to the network feed when they intended to air Jeopardy.

  7. I noticed that the past few nights.. specifically with Lucy Yang as mentioned. However over the past few years (specifically during the past administration) Bill Ritter.. ONLY Bill Ritter.. would throw comments in making it quite clear of his political stance. It’ll be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks.

  8. Has anyone noticed a shift in the editorial tone at WABC recently? It might just be for sweeps, but coverage of things like crime or city nuisances seems much less neutral and much more tabloid than they had been previously. For instance, a report by Lucy Yang tonight on subway crime was much more forceful and scathing in attributing it to bail reform than I would have expected from WABC, nearly FOX-like in tone. The following report on a dirt bike crash referred to the familiar city nuisance as a “scourge”. I don’t think these examples are bad journalism or even ethically fraught, but they are an abrupt shift from the generally empathetic, descriptive, and non-analytical tone that I associate with Eyewitness News. I’m curious to see if this continues - could management changes be the root of this? Happy to see them test new waters but if this is indeed a new approach, I’m not sure the New York Post is the best font of inspiration.

  9. San Francisco did away with early prime after a few years. It was just their NBC and CBS station that did that. Sacramento is the only PST station that has it.

  10. Actually, most stations in the Pacific time zone air the network shows at 5:30. LA and maybe a handful of stations (i.e. KGTV & KIRO) air it at 6:30.

  11. Rita solo anchored the 4am hour and contributed to the show usually at the newsroom's Live Desk the rest of the way until 10am. Tony and Araksya co-anchor from 5-7, Michaela anchors the show from 7-10 with contributions from both Tony and Araksya from various parts of the studio. Seems weird to have an anchor leave a show that is going thru a re-branding during May Sweeps.

  17. That’s fine. There’s a better way to approach people here. Whether he’s right or not is immaterial. Being right isn’t a license to flatten people in a condescending manner.

  18. That wasn't a copyright strike more than it was a Community Guidelines violation. When my channels were still up, I got a strike here and there for community guidelines...and it was always about "spam". Always had them overturned and restored. Some a------ must have flagged his videos so he would be terminated. Likewise, the AVTB account where I am reposting many of my videos got a copyright strike last week from another YouTuber for a video of commercials from a block of 1986 cartoons. His reason? "You stole my video." The YouTuber was not verified, and he too was posting blocks of Saturday morning cartoons, but he was posting the whole cartoons w/ commercials. Keep in mind, '80s nostalgia-type guy, not a voice actor, not a producer, never worked for DIC. My commercials were from the same program, but different station...and he carefully edited out any local breaks on his videos. We have emailed him to try and get this retracted, but he refuses to answer us.

  20. Tell that to Rosenworcel. Even Carr today called on the FCC to dismiss this complaint with prejudice "by the end of the day today" Sadly Rosenworcel and the D's will see this and use this to RKO Sinclair out. I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually feel bad for many of Sinclair stations that had absolutely nothing to do with this and yet they will ultimately be punished because of what WBFF "did" and I even feel bad for WBFF itself because they were doing its job of asking questions and holding people accountable and yet Mosby "felt rubbed the wrong way" and is asking the FCC to possibly take away its license to broadcast from WBFF. I definitely agree this shouldn't go anywhere but unfortunately this will likely be the topic for awhile.
