Oh boohoo. During football season you have to work an hour or two overtime, one or two nights a week. If all you want is an eight hour, no overtime day, then Jiffy Lube or CitiBank are probably hiring. Here’s an idea: the next time you see a nurse or first responder on the street or in the supermarket, stop them and tell them your horrible overtime tale of woe.

WNBC 6 pm news will be late tonight due to Notre Dame football overage. Big deal. It happens this time of year. What you should do if a show is so important, is change your DVR settings to go an extra 30 minutes. It's an easy fix. Or stream the show the next day on Hulu, Peacock, WB or whatever.

BTW, The station was ABC24 back when then WPTY became the new ABC affiliate on December 1, 1995. And since late '95, 'PTY was NewsWatch 24 (95-97), ABC24 News (Twice), and ABC24 Eyewitness News (IMO, they need to bring the EWN name back). The new logo and some changes are an important improvement for WATN to climb out of the ratings hole... maybe.

It's parallel to the left edge of the '4', which means it'll be used for the dynamic/moving part of the branding.

Nah, the 20/20 bugs have been inconsistent for years. The new logo certainly should've given them the opportunity to fix this, but it's no fault of the rebrand team.

The last time NBC cut away from an NFL game, we now call that game the Heidi Bowl. Unfortunately, News 4 New York, barring severe weather had to wait them out.

Football often runs over. Sundays. Sunday nights. Thursdays. And even college games on Saturday. Nothing unusual about that.

Unfortunately the Local 24 news days are over. MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Big changes are coming to Local 24 and Local Memphis starting on Sept. 27, 2021. WATN-TV will rebrand to "ABC24 Memphis" to better connect with Memphis viewers. WATN-TV became "Local 24" on air and "Local Memphis" online after it was acquired by Nexstar Broadcasting in July of 2012. In September of 2019, TEGNA purchased WATN from Nexstar and initiated a rebranding study shortly after. The ABC24 branding will come with new logos, a new web address, and new page name on Facebook, "ABC24 Memphis". "ABC24 is already how the Memphis community identifies with WATN," said Sam Carolan, Director of Digital Content for TEGNA Memphis Broadcasting, "It's instantly recognizable to our audience. I personally hate Fox’s reporting on other media outlets. They take a very obvious subjective stance against other personalities that they deem “liberal media.”

Actually, I am not concerned about them working overtime (well I guess it's a pain) and you completely missed the point of my post/rant (which I guess I had not mentioned) I hate that they run late because it screws up the shows that follow it, and my DVR recording of those shows. If the games are never going to end on time, they should just schedule additional time so there is at least a chance of the following shows starting on time.

Only a matter of time before the same thing happens with WOI.

And it sucks whenever it happens (even worse when they say "wait we have another game to switch to!"). Sorry for the rant.

Ugh, and it's 11:06 and the game still has "six" minutes left, which probably means it won't be over until at least 11:30. Amusingly, the news was supposed to be on at the regular time. I hate football season with the late running games. Update - the game ended over an hour late. Almost as pathetic as the Giants losing again.

Tonight Deadline Whitehouse with Nicole Wallace is airing at 9pm slot, maybe a possible replacement for Rachael
