  1. Unlikely for Shep to take that slot. Most people at that stage of their career don't want to be working until midnight. Though on a smaller network, he's got a nice early primetime slot. I'm sure it wasn't Brian Williams' first choice to anchor an 11 p.m. show either, but that was the opportunity he was given to rehabilitate his career.

  4. Most cable systems I've used only have CNN and HLN, in the basic package at least. I'm saying do away with HLN and put CNN I on basic cable.

  5. And move all of the "murder porn" to TruTV....whatever that network is.... They should have never cast off the CourtTV brand, and now it's in Katz/Scripps hands. And like HLN, it also airs Forensic Files every now and then! Had it been a decade earlier, Adult Swim could have gotten it's own network too, instead of being half of Cartoon Network. But back to CNN, it needs a reset, and sadly, it may take another merger or divestiture to do that. NewsNation is trying to make their own mark, and is failing miserably on the ashes of Superstation WGN.

  6. I’m guessing MSNBC would put him where Lawrence or Rachel are, one thing to consider is time slot, 11PM ET/10 PM CT is local news for the networks, putting Shep on before that would help with viewership IMO. Either way he’d be great for MSNBC and give their news coverage some serious credibility. I’m happy to see Chris Jansing anchoring tonight, makes sense why they kept her in NYC and didn’t send her to Kentucky for coverage.

  7. Classy yet emotional sign off by Brian Williams... Words can't describe how I feel as he signs off the network for the last time, with the election theme and NYC skyline shot fading in. I don't know how to describe it but there's just something that fascinates me with BriWi's ending sequence "On behalf of all my colleagues at the networks of NBC News, goodnight" accompanied by the election closing theme every weeknight and I'm gonna miss it so much (maybe Brian's style is just so breathtakingly verbose and it just blends in so well with the election closing theme every night). I wish whoever that take over his position as chief anchor will continue to carry on his narrative and verbose style of anchoring.

  8. It's been a rough road getting here, but we're excited to reveal the new site. Let's get to it! Outside of visual changes, there aren't a whole lot of functional changes. Notable changes include: Mobile support is improved, especially when composing a message. Emoticons are OUT and the full suite of emojis are IN. BBCode has been removed completely in favor of a more robust WYSIWYG editor. The logo has been refreshed. Coming soon: We will be restoring the ability to register and sign in with popular web services like Google, Twitter, and Facebook. And there is much more to come in the days and weeks ahead! Stay tuned for more updates. Regrettably, the old Shoutbox was not able to be carried over to the new site. We are looking into our options when it comes to real-time discussion, including integration with services like Discord, which many of you already use. This will also be addressed within the coming days. Please reach out if you encounter any issues, either by PM or by emailing [email protected].
