  2. She's been at the station for a full 2 months already. Her first report was sometime in October right before Halloween.

  6. Enforcer has seen several iterations of updates. Stations can use anything they want, composed from 1994 to 2020. However, stations typically use a mix of themes which can make the branding sound inconsistent. CBS Local was composed on the cheap. Stations are becoming less willing to pay for high quality music. So you get a lot of rushed, almost ubiquitous sounding packages that don't set the station apart from any other in the market. ABC has the edge because they invest more in station resources.

  7. Yes, yes, because THAT'S the stations' problems. Not the decades of mismanagement, budget cuts, and subsequent poor ratings. Really, most here need to get a grip. I don't want to say that CBS Local is a downgrade from modern Enforcer (though I think it is), but it DEFINITELY wouldn't be some magical problem-solver, either. More than just about any cosmetic adjustment we've ever discussed here, such a theme change across the board might be the most unnoticeable of all time, to the average viewer. Hell, I have no problem saying that neither Gari nor Stephen Arnold have produced the best adaptations of the WBBM signature. They just happened to be the powerhouse music companies of their eras, therefore most accessible for the average client.

  8. It makes little difference in such small markets, since it barely adds 0.1 or 0.2 points for Scripps - not enough to get into even one mid-sized market.

  9. Scripps has filed petitions to switch all six Montana (MTN) stations to UHF. KBZK (13 > 27) KPAX (7 > 25) KRTV (7 > 22) KTVH (12 > 31) KTVQ (10 > 20) KXLF (5 > 15) I don't think I'm much of a fan of switching in these mountainous areas in which most of those households have outdoor antennas, which works well with VHF.

  10. Maureen O'Boyle returned to the anchor desk at WBTV tonight, after an extended absence of over 2 months. No explanation given but just a welcome back. I guess just a personal leave but all seems well and glad to see her back.

  13. Philly and America's longest-running local news theme (and a record shattering one) Move Closer to Your World will turn 50 next year. That's the same year that Gardner will leave 6ABC.

  14. CBS Local from Stephen Arnold needs to be the package the CBS O&Os need to start using immediately. Retire the Enforcer music from 1994 and give some life to (in many cases) third place stations in major cities. ABC/Disney has the edge in many markets where CBS and ABC both own a station.

  15. Ugh, you'd think they'd learned from Look N. If the bug goes away, it's safe to assume that that the blue/red will remain, hanging off the lower third, like a tumor.
