  1. I've always been partial to this one. Similar styles popped up elsewhere, but I maintain that, while not the style of today, these opens have not only held up best, but still look nice now.

  2. The WUSA/Gannett look was my favorite! There was also a blue version!

  3. The A-block went 20 minutes straight as a result as well. The first ad break came right in the middle of Lee’s weather forecast. Yikes. The city’s news leader is struggling tonight.

  4. WABC-TV appears to be suffering some technical difficulties. Viewers saw rare color bars and test patterns for the first 5 minutes of the 11pm news. It appears, however, that the newscast started as usual. When the test pattern ended, the newscast was joined in progress during the middle of an A block weather report. During regular weather around 11:20, the forecast segment was interrupted by a station promo that then aired again right after the weathercast finished up and Bill Ritter tossed to a break without any bumper headlines. The first commercials didn’t air until 11:21.

  5. With all due respect, you posted not much more than an Instagram link, saying that something was coming. No details or time slot from you or Anderson, just a semi-cryptic "hey, we're working on something" from the host.

  6. I'm going with the 2003 WFAA Hothaus package. The cinematography is incredible!

  7. From the NYC DOB, there is work being done on floors 1, 2 and 3. WPIX has enterance on floor 1 and a studio an old newsroom area on 2 (remember the old Tong/Cafferty news set?) Traffic is done from the old news room. WPIX original tv studio (magic garden, INN news) was done on the 10th. They are now pix offices and newsroom. Would make sense to expand to 3rd floor. Also when the Daily News Building was sold by Tribune, it was grandfathered in that Pix would always have a home at a special rate

  8. There’s also this one from WBBM … one of the most ambitious talent opens you’ll ever see.

  9. Cleveland Scene has a downright scathing review of the Bally sports app.... https://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2022/02/16/we-are-all-so-goddamn-sick-of-the-bally-sports-app?utm_source=feature&utm_medium=home&utm_campaign=hpfeatures&utm_content=HomeFeaturedStoriesCustomMobile If this is what they've pinned their hopes for the majority of their viewers (cord cutters and the DTC customers), then they may as well be doomed.

  10. I loved the KCBS early/mid-2000s look. I believe KCNC had it too. Probably my favorite music package as well. I’m not sure how I feel about KCBS using a soft lens on all the studio cams but it absolutely matched the graphics. I was also a fan of KTLA’s 1997-2004 look where everything was a weight of Franklin Gothic. It was simplistic but good. Blue accents at night and orange accents in the morning.

  12. I'm also getting sick of the ranting and slander on this thread. It is making the posts unattractive.
