  1. I feel like Talent opens are a thing of the past though now. If i'm not mistaking, I think only WABC does talent opens the rest of the stations don't have them.

  2. Major ones in major markets aren't going anywhere. The smaller ones in smaller markets may move.

  3. Congratulations to WFMJ for finally realizing 1988 happened 34 years ago and it's time to have a 5pm newscast.

  4. I wanna puke just hearing that... Good Day Miami. Thank god its morning news is Today in Florida (which dates back to their NBC days). This article says otherwise saying it will return later this year. Also, WILX has Funny You Should Ask. That'll probably air since Wheel doesn't do second-runs. https://www.wilx.com/2022/07/29/wilx-studio-10-takes-hiatus-launches-studio-10-presents/

  5. It’s about time. I wish they would do that for the 5 & 11pm newscasts

  6. A hurricane-afflicted area with a lot of transplants needing homes remodeled or built does keep siding, roofing, concrete, HVAC and pool contractors and maintainers well in the black...and you need to get around by car too, so dealers get their piece too, along with a captive tourism audience wanting to head north or east. Today in Florida was launched at the right time; WTVJ and NBC can't copyright that as long as the Ansins keep puttering along. There won't be a name change anytime soon, and I could see them gaining two hours eventually when Rachael ends or if Sherri (don't know if they're carrying that) doesn't succeed. Divorce Court will continue to exist just because it now has AVOD/YouTube channel revenue coming in along with syndication, and spouses will want to air their stuff out on TV.

  7. Well, which one of us called into WNEP TalkBack Feedback, as a 80-year old person complaining about the word NXT? LOL

  9. Damn…when stations are even outdoing WSVN in terms of news hours, you know things have gone crazy. Then again, I suppose this isn’t a new development, so it’s not as shocking as it might have been years ago. SW Florida stations must be raking it in when it comes to ad revenue.

  10. If it wasn’t for WFMJ wanting to counterprogram WKBN at 5pm with Maury, then Oprah, then Ellen, WFMJ would’ve done it YEARS ago.

  11. This month marks 15 years at WABC for Jeff Smith. Bill mentioned it, as they showed a photo of Jeff with the award, before going to Jeff for the forecast during the 6pm newscast.

  12. Correct, it was only streamed on abc7NY, which would explain why they did not do a full broadcast.

  14. Jim Mueller, a WJ(K)W and WKYC sportscaster and Cleveland Browns color analyst from 1975-95 has passed away. He was also a longtime spokesperson for (Ed) Mullinax Ford and Pat O'Brien Chevrolet. I'm sure anyone growing up in Northeast Ohio remembers the jingle.
