  2. Per this Instagram post, Dick Brennan is joining Dana Tyler as co-anchor of CBS 2 News at 6, starting today: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cj0wcxpDblD/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Interesting move. I like the idea of coanchors, but Dana has been solo at 6pm for so many years now (since Chris Wragge moved to mornings after Rob Morrison was let go, which I believe was in 2013).

  3. The creator of this thread has been inactive on these boards for over two years. Let's rename it.

  4. I second the motion of renaming the thread and removing the corresponding tag that matches what's currently in the title.

  5. Like the KWCH post, this doesn’t really have to do with graphics (since the station is still using the Quincy package for now), but WPTA brought back the legacy “21 Alive” branding on Monday (October 17) after a six-year run under the “ABC 21” moniker. The logo introduced with the Quincy package was modified to replace the WPTA calls with the “ALIVE” moniker and to remove the ABC Circle logo.

  6. NBC 5 is now a tie-optional operation, and I'm not sure how to feel about it.

  7. It isn't really coincidental. The new guys running CNN used to run CBS This Morning.

  8. Not quite; airing the debate on WSTR was out of necessity, not for “public interest” reasons. Nexstar doesn’t own a station in Cincinnati, and had to partner w/ Sinclair in that market to ensure its debate could be seen in every Ohio market. That said, it’s really not a big deal IMHO. Is it any different than WABC/WPVI having exclusivity over a New Jersey gubernatorial debate? I actually don’t mind Nexstar doing this. Just like ABC in NJ, Nexstar has the rights to host this debate, so why wouldn’t they air it on their platforms? If anything, airing it in all of their markets broadens the reach of the debate, as it now airs on stations that may not otherwise have carried it. And what does it have to do w/ NewsNation? These debates are being moderated by local anchors/reporters, not Chris Cuomo (and thank God for that).

  9. Curious to see what Gray's plans for the station are.... Could Telemundo Cincinnati be in the future? Maybe even something related to 3.0. it's basically been a subchannel repository for the last decade or so after losing out on the CW to WKRC 12.2. Speaking of WKRP, when's the last time that show's been shown on TV? At least the DVD release restored a lot of the original music that was stripped from later TV airings.... And one last thing, my fellow babies....

  10. New M&A. The LP acquisitive train continues to roll...... Cincinnati's WBQC-LD (known for its branding "WKRP-TV") was owned by Elliot Block, until his passing in November 2019. It has since been operated by a trust. Gray is going to snag this LP for $2.5K.

  11. HEADLINE: CBS2 HAS A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH A FORMER ANCHOR Yes, you read that right. She'll be filing reports for the station, throughout the next week's ceremonies.
