Are you a proponent of change for the sake of change or something? You come off as some sort of apologist for the way things are done right now being somehow superior and anyone who thinks otherwise has something wrong with them…

ABC7 morning anchor Leslie Sykes celebrated 30 years with the station today and it just shows that Disney really cares about their employees.

It's a grandfathered in list thread, and serves as a convenient aggregate page since the algorithms of YouTube and other sites have made it harder to find this kind of stuff.

It’s also not the way people talk normally. One of the things I remember being endlessly bombarded with in college was the need to make it conversational… well… nobody holds a conversation in active tense about something that happened last week. But I have a couple of simple production issues with WNT too… the tease needs to be 30 seconds with the top 3 or 4 stories and a sentence or two about them. Instead we get an explanation long enough to be its own story about everything they are gonna talk about. It’s dangerously close to being able to watch the tease and shut it off knowing what happened. The other thing that bugs me is they adopted the old music and then the rest of the newscast everything goes to break in silence and they end the newscast in silence. It looks a bit unkempt and thrown together that way. I don’t get it and I don’t think it’s some broader trend in news.

BPME? What are you talking about? With all due respect, sometimes it can be a bit difficult to follow along with your posts. They come off as too heavy with "inside baseball" shorthand and in attempts to use clever and even snarky wordplay. I would respectfully recommend using just plain ol' English. We'll still get the gist of what you're saying.

The whole plan is weird. I'm not convinced it's going to last, and I'm not convinced that CBS management thinks this is going to last. Did Wendy McMahon take Neeraj's place, or is that still vacant? This anchor lineup feels like more of a placeholder idea until there's a clear idea of who's leading the news department. Whoever it is will probably want to put their footprint on it and redo the Evening News, just like what every other former head of the news department has wanted to do. Maurice is a smooth anchor, don't get me wrong, but is he a national name yet? Does he even have any body of reporting outside the tristate area? Dickerson's not awful, but he's never seemingly been super successful with any chair he's been given, and he's now basically been in them all (mornings, Face the Nation, streaming.)
