  1. For those who missed it... WTEN's Steve Caporizzo's sign off from Monday:

  2. TBN also did themselves no favors by cashing out many of their stations in the spectrum auction, and subsequently selling the licenses to other parties, much like WDLI in Canton living on as a re-packed station on Ion's (Inyo's) WVPX. These TBN stations (and other full-power god-casters) exploited the must-carry obligation to get them on cable while the others opted for retransmission consent. Donations went down over time and the spectrum was a way to make some quick cash.

  3. Merit Street is complaining that TBN didn't help it get on cable enough.

  4. The funny thing is that EWTN and the Vatican have a terrible relationship because of a lot of things, including EWTN's hate of Vatican II. If Rome could start its own American operation with EWTN's carriage, they would dump them in a heartbeat. And sadly, 'Christian television' has become just a euphemism for 'right-wing' content; the local religious station in Milwaukee airs a lot of wingnut shows and full podcasts now, including the Worldview Report, which actually gets an audience as an 'alternative' to the local newscasts at 10 p.m. and The National Desk.

  5. I don't ever advocate for a religious network to expand their activities of "praising the lord" via the airwaves...(except for maybe EWTN since it's tied to the Catholic Church itself) But in this case, it would be an improvement over the crap-fest that MeritTV is. Why would TBN ever sell their soul in such a way? Oh yeah, it's TBN. Such an odd mix of Dr. Phil, Nancy Grace, and whatever MMA fight is airing in between. And what does any of this have to do with Christianity? Shouldn't Oprah have put a stop to this decades ago? The next best thing is the CTN stations putting Newsmax2 on their subchannel feeds. I"ll stop here before I go ranting any more.

  7. I wish WTHR was still of this format 30 years later, instead of becoming just 13 News (unfortunately, profit is king apparently, so Eyewitness went out the window in 2022).

  8. WBNS would get their set developed by Devlin Design Group 90s set a year prior in 1994. The Wolfe's had the money to spend for both stations.

  9. Day 1 of the then-new WTHR Channel 13 Eyewitness News. New set (developed by Devlin Design Group), new music, new graphics, new name (the second stint), new logo, new everything. The first 90 minutes of WTHR's then-new era are here from Monday, May 8th, 1995:

  10. NBC renewed rights with breeders cup. Additional coverage on USA. I don't understand why they would make additional sports deals & put it on USA when the network will be spun off later this year. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/nbc-breeders-cup-extend-partnership-142651145.html
