  1. The last logo was very good. This would look decent if the network's name matched in font.

  2. Another new look coming on Monday…

  3. Always thought that was their best talent open. Wish they’d bring it back. The one they use now is sleek but so boring. I also can’t used to calling it CBS New York. I still call it channel 2 news and that hasn’t been a thing since the 90s lol

  4. Not the first time CBS 2 aired an all-male newscast, as seen from this 1989 intro

  5. KOTA uses WSI MAX, yes. Understand, weather graphics often ship from the group's design hub and they will "install" the right assets for the weather system a station uses, either WSI MAX or Baron Lynx, sometimes both. Once the assets are installed on the weather computers, while there will likely be some pre-made templates, it's up to the meteorologists to customize each individual graphic. For news graphics, though, each station needs to make sure its hardware is compatible, groups may make the decision to deprecate certain hardware configurations so that it's easier for their remote technicians to diagnose a problem. Depending on the station, they will likely have to wait until they invest in new hardware and will launch new graphics when they're ready. For each station, it's up to management to decide whether they want to wait to launch weather graphics with the new news graphics, or just go ahead and launch weather graphics when they're ready.

  6. My best guess that's the case, and their graphics system likely dates back to when ABC moved from downtown Rapid City to Fox's facility on Skyline Drive, and hasn't hit the point in the capital budget cycle where it can be updated/replaced. (Affiliation is the only easy way to say that with how Gray rearranged the signals when they purchased, spun off, and eventually repurchased what had been KOTA-TV which is now KHME-TV, and moved the KOTA-TV call letters and IP to what was KEVN-TV.)

  7. Is that the same story for KOTA then? They've had GrayOne weather for a while now, but still the old graphics package.

  8. Besides that it can sometimes get chilly in LA, areas of Southern California like Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, and the rest of the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountains often get snow — enough for ski and snowboarding.

  9. Yuck no. In many top markets that would mean controlling and operating 3 stations. They've already operated WWOR 9 into the ground in NY.

  10. The new court show will actually be called "Adam's Law," which is really odd to me considering that's the name of the federal law that categorizes sex offenders into different tiers, and it's also an anti-hazing law in Virginia. Obviously the show has nothing to do with either one of those, but you would think they would've called it "Adam's Court" or something. Also, why is CBS distributing "America's Funniest Home Videos?" Or am I misunderstood and they're just going to be carrying it on their stations (I assume the independent sidecar stations) without actually distributing it?
