  1. Any guesses on when this will roll out to Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, etc? Not sure if they would extend this branding to stations that have somewhat of a history like WFTC, WWOR, KCOP, etc.

  2. I'll take an additional 30 minutes of news over a 4th airing (within a 24 hr. period) of TMZ any day.

  5. ^^^ How very KTVU/KIICU of them. Speaking of KTVU, in what is barely news, it's official: assistant ND and former managing editor Amber Eikel named ND: http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/ktvu-names-news-director/188758

  6. THANK YOU!!! Your content won't be any different from the previous broadcasts. Quantity over Quality will lose every time. The station is already clocking in at 64 hours on Channel 2 alone. That would be 66 1/2 hours once they add the 11pm. And add 10 hours a week that air on TV 36, that totals altogether 76 & 1/2 hours!!! That is insane! Something has to give with these crazy news expansions. Just like I said about sister station WFLD's expansion of the 5pm and their upcoming 4am, its just a complete waste. #TooMuchNews Follow up. Monday, April 17th will be the date. The 10pm repeat on 36 will air at 11:30pm.

  7. Nielsen stopped using paper diaries for TV in the top ten markets a decade ago and has been phasing them out elsewhere ever since. Dozens of markets are now paperless. They'll be completely dead next year. Perhaps WCVB is seeking to reinforce their identity since Boston has been pummeled by news about NBC Boston/WBTS and WHDH in the last year. They might feel there's nothing to lose and no cost involved in reminding people who they are watching. Or something else.
