  1. AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain will close down at the end of the year; Full time employees are now laid off. The Rockies are considering new broadcast rights to Altitude Sports and Entertainment, or just air their games on public access/MLB.TV like the other rejects. The network is temporarily operating as SportsNet Rocky Mountain to last the rest of the year. Here’s the logo:

  2. Agreed. Given that Megan Glaros and Erin Kennedy created a whole YouTube channel discussing the dysfunction of the TV news industry, I don’t see her returning to Chicago TV, let alone weekends in NY. She seems to be embracing her NW Indiana life…

  3. It should be noted that the Coyotes and Scripps will eventually have an in-market streaming option in the coming weeks, so that will eventually be covered. The big thing I'm worried about in the meantime is those subchannels better be upgraded to 720p at the very least by opening night because hockey is not a good sport in standard def to watch. You'd have to assume by next season too that KASW will be converted to a KMCC-esque indie with CW moving to KNXV-DT2 to better accommodate the games; it was just way too late to do anything last-minute. But at the very least in Salt Lake City, which is getting both the Golden Knights and Coyotes, along with the Jazz on KJZZ for free TV options, along with Phoenix overall, you're a very happy winter sports fan.

  4. And KDOC is no more, having been sold last summer to Tri-State Christian Television. The downfall of KCOP, WWOR-TV and others is all Fox's fault. Maybe it would have been inevitable, but I truly think the former Chris-Craft UPN stations would have been better off had someone else other than Fox bought them.
