  1. That shocked me, to say the least. I would have to assume that WGN will eliminate the afternoon traffic position, right? I don't think they had an afternoon fill-in for her whenever she was off or when she would fill-in for Sarah in the mornings.
  2. Does anybody know if these teaser graphics are new? I haven't watched their 4pm news in a long time. Is this part of a different graphics package?
  3. Nope, NBC 5 terminated their lease on the streetside studio (it wasn't in their own building) back in 2012. ABC 7 is the only one in the market still using a streetside studio.
  4. According to Feder's post this morning, ABC 7 will still utilize him here and there when needed. I assume it will be a lot less often now. Besides, he never "left" Milwaukee anyway, right? His main job has always been there, as I understand it.
  5. I'll actually miss the 7pm newscast on WCIU. I've watched it more than I've watched any other weekday ABC 7 newscast in the past 3 years.
  6. Did they wrap production way in advance of the cancellation? Is that how they were able to reclaim the set for CLTV? Or were they still filming Man of the People up until this past week, I wonder?
  7. Wow, the toils of being a news reporter in a city full of tragedy. Something I've never even thought about before.
  8. I watched a little bit of the 7pm CLTV newscast tonight. Is was much of the usual CLTV fare with just solo tight shots of the lone anchor, and all you could see was the duratran. I think they did one slightly zoomed out shot late in the newscast where you could see a bit of the shelf unit in the background. I have to wonder if they're going to make broader use of the set or if this was just a way to get the show out of the newsroom. I hope they do something with it, otherwise just a tiny flashcam setup would have achieved the same effect.
  9. What's old is new again!
  10. I bet Cheryl will probably have a few weekdays off this week. Either Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday.
  11. Wow, that's like a last resort type of thing.
  12. I was surprised it hadn't happened yet. This was in the discussion since years before they actually stopped using the studio. I wonder if they had to wait the full 10 years before being allowed to put it up for rent.
  13. Tornado confirmed on the ground near Dyer, and WGN is in postgame commercials with no ticker over the commercials. Ticker didn't come up until the postgame show came back on. And despite the urgent situation, they are still continuing the postgame show like nothing ever happened because the car company with the blue oval is paying them to do so.
  14. No, they're playing in Houston.
  15. Has WGN covered this tornado warning at all? Every other station in the market has broken in for wall to wall coverage, but it looks like WGN has committed to stay with Cubs coverage without so much as a double box live report from the weather center as they've done in years past.
  16. What the heck is with the horrid lighting and the junk over in the lower right corner? Did they hang a green curtain inside of a storage closet? Is he recording this from his own home?
  17. Yeah, all labor on TV studios must be union.
  18. And today we have an artificial city backdrop on WGN. Not sure if their camera is down or what. Normally they'd be eager to show a live shot of the snowstorm out there.
  19. I only saw the highlights, but I don't think there was anything new for their last year of Cubs game coverage, right?
  20. You could almost argue that they were ahead of the trend in 2016. ESPN was still messing around with the blue and silver motif at the time. It wasn't until 2017 and especially 2018 that ESPN decided to fully return SportsCenter to the red and silver color scheme.
  21. Irika just opened the newscast solo and said, "Rob...err...Brad is off tonight." Old habits die hard.
  22. The first pairing of Antonio and Tracy was just for like a couple weeks between the date he started and the date Tracy went on maternity leave, right? I can't imagine it being more than 2 or 3 weeks.
  23. She's not with TWC anymore. She left TWC in September. Looks like she's mainly been doing freelance work for NBC on the Today Show and on WNBC since then.
  24. Let the record show that the excessive lowercase was done for stylistic reasons... j/k. Blame the weekend crew. (Yet they capitalized "Million" but nothing else.)
  25. I hope she does turn up at Fox 32. She would be a huge asset to them.
