WFLD thought it was a great idea to go into a temp set at the start of February sweeps last year so that their new set could be ready for May sweeps. But I agree, probably not during an Olympic year. That's not to say that studio work might resume after February sweeps are over.

Well, they did or still do anchor the 4am newscast solo from the Weather Center. Maybe they could use it as a temporary two-seat anchor desk while the main desk area gets remodeled.

They don't appear to be see-through.

The color scheme feels so WBBM, and not in a good way, IMO.

I have no idea. I would have to guess very recently. Maybe it even debuted yesterday, for all I know. I haven't seen it until then.

Cheryl Scott is off tonight. Larry is filling in. Not sure if Phil is also off tonight or if they changed the way he's utilized when Cheryl is off. I didn't catch any of the earlier newscasts.

I didn't even bother to check the 7pm because I automatically assumed it would be Cheryl Scott.

Alan was on the 7pm newscast tonight. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I assume Hosea and Rob were both off tonight.

ABC 7 will be starting their news at 4AM tomorrow, and Karen Jordan will be filling in, hence her absence on the news tonight.

As in the fact that the WCIU newscast would be ending and leaving Larry with just the 4 and 6?

They are doing some experimenting tonight. Tom Negovan is doing the night shift tonight while Ben Bradley is live in studio doing reports.

It's kind of funny how dedicated they are to the incomplete talent bumps. Back when everybody did talent bumps, most stations wouldn't air one if they had a vacancy on a particular newscast.

Apparently Amy was slated to fill-in for Lourdes and Micah all night. Jackie continues with the 5pm hour in for Micah.

Wait, did this happen at the station level, or was this an issue with a certain cable provider?

It's gotta be one of them, right? At least in the interim? Sounds like they haven't hired a replacement, and it sounds like they won't do so immediately.

I am having a hard time remembering that tonight is Jim's final night. I'm tempted to set a reminder on my phone to remember to watch.

It's time for the annual tradition of Zoriada in the evening. Seems to be a yearly thing now where she works the evening shift during the week between Christmas and New Year's while Allison and Marion are on vacation. Pretty sure Zoraida usually gets vacation next week before everything returns to normal the week after next.
