  1. I can't believe they decided to make the score graphic even smaller.
  2. Two notes for WGN Sports... 1) Apparently "Tuesday Night Baseball" is a new ad campaign. They apparently have Cubs or White Sox games scheduled for most Tuesdays throughout the season. 2) They have made some improvements to the graphics package and have bolded the statistics to help them stand out better.
  3. Bent on making the overall concept of the score graphic work, they have inverted the color scheme in hopes that it will improve visibility of the base and out indicators.
  4. And I would figure Sinclair's response would be, "And there's the door."
  5. Looks like the White Sox presentation is the same as the Cubs. Same blue colors, even the same music. EDIT: The music might have a slightly different tone to it?
  6. Even though the Cubs game went to 11:30 on a Friday night, neither of the anchors went home early, and Tom Skilling is still there. Surprising.
  7. They need to either pick their backgrounds more wisely or put a light-colored box around that black text on the right.
  8. Watching at home on the 70-inch TV...some of the full screen graphics were rough around the edges. Not sure if it can be chalked up to "typical road broadcast issues" or if they need to refine something with their graphics system overall.
  9. April 23rd is the official start date for Joe Donlan, per the ads WGN is running during the Cubs game today.
  10. The rest of the WGN Sports graphics look very beautiful.
  11. Yep, way too much room for the score, yet not enough room to fit "CUBS". Doesn't make sense. Agreed about the colored team names. Everyone does that now because it looks better. The gray background for the team names is bland.
  12. There's a point where flat is too flat. This is too flat. Their score graphic from like 2003 had more personality than this.
  13. At least that looks somewhat clean. Hate to say it, but the best work so far has been the promotional graphics.
  14. I just tweeted them about how bad the out indicators are. Can't even see them clearly from my couch. You can't even intuitively tell that those little blue things on the side are supposed to indicate outs.
  15. Well, they decided to debut the apparent score graphic today. Very flat and basic.
  16. Came here to talk about this. I'll have to DVR the game on Thursday so I can check it out at home that night.
  17. Patrick Elwood anchored the WGN Evening News alongside Micah tonight.
  18. It's hard to get excited about WBBM. It's a shame that nothing really works for them. It's like they rotate GM/ND every so many years, then rotate female anchors, then rotate GM/ND again, rinse and repeat.
  19. Is it safe to assume that the show is dying due to the timeslot? I feel like WCL is past it's prime.
  20. Whoops!
  21. I always felt it would make sense to put Ben and Lourdes at 6pm as well. That way, you're alternating and keeping it fresh.
  22. What the heck...definitely didn't see this coming.
  23. Demetrius Ivory is in tonight, and Sean Lewis is filling in for Tahman. Interesting group.
  24. Starting tonight, the Friday 9pm newscast has been shortened to 30 minutes, and a new show "Flannery Fired Up" featuring Mike Flannery airs from 9:30-10pm. http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/111117/wfld-chicago-debuts-flannery-fired-up-tonight
  25. WGN is using the hashtag #WGNSnow for this event. It keeps confusing me because my eyes read it as #WGNnow - like some sort of instant-access news service or something.
